Why are some bold? I would say they are the ones that produced a winner but there are some winners who aren't in bold

I've put in bold any of the years where the award winner and the runner-up were from the same team. (So a year where teammates were 1st and 3rd aren't in bold).

Updated for 2017.

There was only one post (#23) which required updating. The Chicago Blackhawks became only the 12th team since 1990 to have three all-stars (Kate 1st team C, Panarin 2nd team RW, and Keith 2nd team D). Still I doubt any of them are too happy with how the season ended...

A little surprised that Crosby and Malkin never had this. Not that I remember a season where it should have happened, but you figure after a decade together it happens even once. 2009 was your best bet. For some reason throughout their careers when one had a great year the other was hurt or had a down year.

This goes along with the fact that they’ve also never won a Presidents' Trophy, despite being a consistent top team in the league.

There were no instances of there being two trophy finalists on the same team in 2019.

Note that Tampa Bay is one of 13 teams, dating back to 1990, that features three year-end all stars - Kucherov first-team RW, Hedman second-team defenseman, and Vasilevskiy first-team goalie. Still, they can't be too happy with how their season ended.

the vezina ballot was interesting though.

TB’s starter and his immediate predecessor at 1 and 2

two former ottawa goalies of the future, who overlapped for a little over a year as craig anderson’s backup, at 2 and 3

There were no instances of there being two trophy finalists on the same team in 2020.

However, Draisaitl and McDavid finished 1-2 in scoring. The last time was 2013 (St. Louis and Stamkos), and the last time before that was 1996 (Lemieux and Jagr).

The Bruins became only the 14th team since 1990 (and the 8th team since the cancelled 2005 season) to have three year-end all-stars - David Pastrnak (1st team RW), Brad Marchand (2nd team LW), and Tuukka Rask (2nd team G).

This thread has been updated for 2021. There were no instances of there being two trophy finalists on the same team.

McDavid and Draisaitl finished 1st and 2nd in scoring for the second year in a row (just that the order reversed compared to 2020).

Several teams had two year-end all-stars (which isn't uncommon), but nobody had more than that.

The Calgary Flames had three year-end all-stars (Gaudreau was first team LW, Tkachuk was second team RW, and Markstrom was second team goalie). They're one of only 15 teams from 1990 onwards with three (or more) year-end all-stars.

McDavid and Draisaitl finished 1st and 2nd in scoring for the 3rd time in the past five years. This is the first time since Bobby Orr & Phil Esposito that two teammates have placed in the top three in scoring together three times.

The Bruins had three year-end all-stars: David Pastrnak (first-team RW), Linus Ullmark (first-team G), and Hampus Lindholm (second-team D). They're one of only 16 teams from 1990 onwards with three (or more) year-end all-stars.
