The 'NCIS'-verse is growing (again)! CBS has ordered the '90s-set prequel series 'NCIS: Origins' about a young Gibbs, narrated by original star Mark Harmon.

Personally I am getting a "young Sheldon" vibe from the Origins idea. But I like the Tony and Ziva idea, they will just need some good supporting actors around them

I watched a bit of the early days of NCIS here and there and I'm skeptical.

I understand it's what the fans want but I can't help but shake the feeling this will be like Bones where their top viewed season was the couple getting together and every season after it was a drop in viewership. People like the angst, the will-they-won't-they and if I remember right in NCIS they ended up together or it was said they were together, right?

They'd to better off restarting with an Israeli spy and an American detective. But what do I know, maybe it works.

It just feels like the setup to an underperforming show
1. Studio retread of characters that already went through their character arcs
2. The angst, will-they-won't they is already gone

Part 1. is true for the NCIS Origins one. Fan favorite character, brought back because the studio thinks it's a safe way to make money. I'm less sure.

Actually I was joking about this at the time, but thinking about it, I would watch an NCIS/JAG type show set in the Star Trek Universe.
