Weddings take time to plan. I am sure this was planned way before the wedding and no one planning the wedding had any idea that Markov would be getting married without a contract with the Habs.

Page 141-142 of the CBA has a chart, looks like full service (820 games after the lockout) is ~$255k, indexed.
82GP = 1 year of service = ~25k lifetime pension, up to 10 years max.

That's not bad at all if you paid off your house as a player. The extra cash once retired is just gravy. An average 4th liner can get a decent $75-100k a year pension.

Markov wants to be a Habs for life. Any delay in his signing is just a smoke screen. The guy had other things on his mind and that's all. If it doesn't happen, it's on Bergevin and no one else.
Secondly, anyone who dare say that Subban didn't get along with his teammates is out to lunch. Subban got along very well with one of the most elusive Habs of all time. He even got invited to the wedding. The problem was not Subban, it was not the players... the problem was Therrien and that's all there is to it.

I initially thought that he didn't get a long with a lot of the players but after seeing this and knowing him and Price are good friends, it does appear it was a conflict with MB, MT and the captain. That sucks
