I gave hasek a sv% of .930 and figure he'd start 3/4 of the games, or roughly 23/31 games for us. Given the team's current sv%, we have given up 91 goals in those 23 games. With Hasek? We'd have given up 53. That would tie for the second fewest goals allowed per game with Boston at 2.3.

of course, in those other 8 games with our current sv% we still give up 31 goals.Still, that only drags us down to the 6th or 7th best GA/G in the league at 2.7 (versus the 3.97 we're actually at).

So, yeah, Hasek would make a huge difference.

But Hasek is not going to walk through those doors any time soon. Our best hope, with pretty much any goalie in there, is to employ a system that focuses hard on limiting quality scoring chances and being a defensive beast.
There's no way a prime Jesus would get a .930 sv% with the way this defense and the team in general is playing right now. Hasek was amazing, but his best years at around .930 were during the trap era on a team that used the trap.
