Well , in theory pretty much anyone could coach the Sabres.
The hard part is to coach them in to success.
"Pierre McGuire named head coach of Buffalo Sabres"
*Pierre stands 2ft away from Jack Eichel*
"You were a stud on the Boston Jr. Bruins, you put up 36 points as a 14-year-old, tell us about that!"
Bring back Ted Nolan again. Third times a charm.
He'd just ask about his breath most likely."Pierre McGuire named head coach of Buffalo Sabres"

Lots of good candidates out there already:
Dave Lewis
Barry Melrose
Peter Horachek
Steve Ludzik
Rick Ley
Pierre Page
Curt Fraser
Would be awesome for the NHL, NHL needs more European blood.
Now obviously as a Finn, i'd wish the coach be Finnish, but.... baby steps, baby steps
Swedes seems to be first at everything, so no news there
Gronborg is american citizen. Used to coach junior teams in USA.Dunno how it would work out or what the best fit would be, but I'd love having a European coach getting a good shot in the NHL again.
There's already been a finnish coach in NHL, Alpo Suhonen in Chicago
Both Ulf (NHL assistant) and Kjell Samuelsson (AHL, NHL) have done that, haven't they?I think a Euro coach is going to have to take an AHL job or NHL assistant job before they get a HC job. And I'm not sure why they would do that.
