Matheson didn't play the puck at all because EP had already dished it off, Trouba was digging for it the entire time until they both spilled to the ice. It's not even close to the same context. The end result looks pretty bad though, seeing it live I started looking to see if he still had all his teeth when he got up.

Coming from a Jets fan, this is a dirty hit. But it wasn't nearly as dirty as what Matheson did to Pettersson. But Trouba should for sure get a hearing from player safety. But say he did something like this again he should get ten games at least.
