I'd love to see him come back to the Pens.

The last few games I have seen him this year, he's looked good, wheels are still there, in limited minutes he's a fantastic depth piece. If the Pens can get him to be the 7th guy and rotate him in as the LD with Riikola, I would definitely love to see the guy back.
Completely agree if he comes cheap..way cheap I'd like him as a depth d on the pens...also leads need a d cheap he would fill in until troops arrive

I want him back on the pens just for nostalgia

This. I'm not sure he's any better than a guy like Jack Johnson at this point. However, I'd love to see him hoist the Cup again in a Pens jersey.

Being realistic, though, I don't see where he fits. The Pens will look something like this when healthy...

Dumoulin-Letang
Pettersson - Marino/Schultz
Johnson/Riikola - Marino/Schultz
Ruhwedel

That's 8(!) guys.

He’s not an nhl D anymore. I would expect playoff bound teams to have better players as their #6/7D

Honestly, wouldn't be surprised if the Avs got him, that seems an astute suggestion from LeBrun. The current seventh defensman is Barberio who isn't all that good himself. I'm quite certain the Avs will add a defensman for depth before the deadline (obviously I am hoping and think it needs to be at least a second pairing calibre defender, but that's probably unlikely). Daley...as the poster said above, he's got experience, I could see Sakic tossing a late pick the Wings' way.
I’d rather have barberio

If he's not even a regular on that Wings team he's probably not a regular on a playoff team but as a depth #7 or #8 you can probably do a lot worse.

He's a regular when he's healthy. Most, if not all, of the games he's missed the past two years have been due to injuries. When healthy he's somewhere around #4-6 on the Wings D, which still isn't saying much.:laugh::laugh:

I think he'll be a 7th dman add by a younger team and would be a good one, even if he doesn't get into a game. He's won what, like 2 cups? Sometimes that invaluable. People knocking Daley are the same ones who knock when Poile or someone picks up a goon in February when it looks like you might play Vegas. Sometimes you just gotta shore things up. I don't have an issue with any playoff team lacking leadership adding this guy for a late round pick

People that knock on the guy are the ones that are him do absolutely nothing on a game by game basis

Dang, Daley was great in those 2016 playoffs. He regressed a bit one year later, though... and we are four years later now.

Edmonton makes no sense whatsoever. Unless Detroit wanted to swap Russell for him straight up and then move Russell again in the summer that is (50% retention would mean a 2 million caphit and only 750k of salary for the acquiring team). But even then, Daley is a significant downgrade on Russell (who shouldn’t be hard to move this summer even without retention), so we’d have to be confident in running Jones-Benning as the bottom pairing and having Daley as the #7
