I like the kid but he needs to work on some things still which shouldn`t be either a surprise nor looked at as a huge negative. His skating needs improvement, if there is one thing we have all seen players be able to improve upon it`s this, not sure he`ll ever be a speed demon but he needs to work more on it, didn`t see him as a guy who could attack quickly on the forecheck. Like him to work on the pace of his game too, not necessarily a speed thing but his decision making with the puck. Again, hardly a shock for a young player to come in and have some struggles adjusting to the pace.

I like him though, just needs more time, there`s value there for sure

Let him get better in Providence and he will be a good one with size

They went on this road trip probably not expecting to win every game would it have hurt to let him play the St-louis game, then send him down also sent Bjork down before the Notre Dame game Bruins are doing a good job teaching the kids it's a buisness

You can't trade Donato the one guy who has been given preferrential treatment and then let Fredric get his homecoming moment after not deserving to stay in the lineup. He would have got it if the negotations with Minnesota dragged out a couple of days more. If the trade even happens Thursday vs Wednesday Coyle probably flies straight to Boston to get settled and meets the team at Warrior Monday. But it happened Wednesday so he had to play Saturday.

I think Fredric will benefit from another 100 AHL games.

Next year he will have Studnicka to push him. Its good we gave him a taste of the NHL because he might not be next guy up that entire time we will be trying to preserve his waiver exempt and expansion draft exempt status.

After next season Coyles 3C job will be open. The year after that we will be replacing DK. Hes got some work to do to add enough offense to get one of those jobs.

Nice to have a prospect who isn't small/soft.

exactly, the B`s called him up, gave him a decent sample size of games to see where his game is at, now they know what they`ll need to work with him on. It`s how it works IMO, kid didn`t appear overwhelmed but still needs to work on a few things

I'd like to see that too. If only to get a feel for what he can do. Plus Columbus is a heavy team and Frederic is big/strong.
Same. Maybe playing him on wing would free him up for more offense. It would give us a heavy 3rd line of Frederic-Coyle-Backes.

Certainly wouldn't make sense to replace Coyle with Frederic. Coyle has looked solid at that position while Frederic was clearly overwhelmed. It might make more sense to try to break him in as a winger.

The might do that. and probably will do that. The other alternative is to give Coyle a couple of games with Krejci to see if he can find a way to get himself out of his slump, and get some positive momentum going.

Face it if the wingers are going to be Backes, and Nordstrom, does it really matter if the Center is Frederic or Coyle? At least if it is Frederic, you just play the line 8 minutes as a true 4th line

Recently down at Prov Frederic had a goal and assist in the past 2 games. And a even plus minus rating

Kuhlman 2 assists in 2 games but -3 rating

I'm kind of indifferent as to which one of these youngsters got called up. But Frederic can play C and big body can help grind down the opponents a bit better

Frederic also is good on the F/O. Coyle has recently been struggling on the faceoff dot

and clearly has little chemistry/production with Backes

So this is why I feel Cehlarik Krejci Coyle line will get a chance vs playing Frederic on the wing

Just please no Nordstrom Krejci Cehlarik , Frederic Coyle Backes
