Dude, just look at them under Hakstol when they played a cohesive defensive system. They supported the defensemen and they were good defensively. Gordon had them trying to run up ice for stretch passes and it constantly left the D alone. Gordon preaching backchecking while preaching play-pushing wasn't compatible with each other.
forwards got called out by the gm end of story. You can see they cheat the game to score and suck two way. Good on Fletcher.

Must be why the players are still here but the coach isn't.
If they get on page they should be a good team but the forwards are in for it now with AV staying. GM called the forwards out for bad play and the bad habits they have which is a great start to see if they have what it takes to play right.

And yet the players remain while the coach is gone, and there is more change on D than at F.

Why?
Can't get rid of everyone and hey I think under AV this will be the turn around we need if the players are on page and if not way more house cleaning will start.

Well, Gordon certainly made things worse, but there is a new sheriff in town.

AV has no loyalty to Voracek or TK or JVR (neither does Fletcher), if they resist his coaching, yes, they could be shipped out by next summer. Same with any other player who butts horns with the new HC or fails to respond to repeated admonitions to do things "the right way."

This is pretty normal with an established coach on a new team, most players buy in, but there are always a few who are comfortable doing things they way they've always done them and resist coaching. AV has made it pretty clear he expects his forwards to play a two way game, we'll know who didn't buy in by the empty locker.

Fletcher basically is hoping the forwards work with AV and the team gets better but if not stick a fork in more forwards.

I’m sure he’s devastated. He wanted all our good players to get traded.

Fletcher was supposed to make massive changes.... I wonder what happened...

hmmm.

Added a top 6 forward. Added a 4th line forechecker.
Cleared out Varone, Knight, Hartman, Weise, Lehtera, Bailey, Simmonds
Added 2 top 4 RHDs
Cleared out Folin (Schlemko), MacDonald, Gudas.

Basically reworked the bottom six and half the defense.
Other changes will probably wait for AV's assessment of the team.

The poster in question was calling for the removal of both Giroux and Voracek, as well as JVR.

Redoing the bottom 6 of the team isnt exactly sweeping changes- it's where we all felt Fletcher would make the most moves.

Fletcher is hoping those players will work two way and the right way and he also called out all the forwards for bad habits which is easy to see. If these forwards dont change they'll be shipped out. Let's hope fletcher is right about the coach being the dif but it's not that easy.

Did he say that in an interview? Or call you directly?

Yeah in an interview. He left the d alone because of bad play by forwards. No detail in there game at all and called it bad habits. Coaches wanted this and they wouldn't do it either. I like the coaches now as its there way or the highway finally.
