As nice as it would have been to lock him up long term, Sanheim's camp obviously was pushing for the bridge. Very fair deal for both sides. Really believe he can be a strong #2 to Provorov for years to come, lets all pray they can afford the next deal!

It is certainly plausible that Sanheim didn't want to sign a long term deal. I would suspect negotiations to take longer if the Flyers did want to sign him long term though.

A bridge deal here and there isn’t a horrific thing.

I would much rather take the calculated risk on a kid that is showing true potential, than a risk of signing overpaid contracts to guys like Hayes.

The bridge route, is going to burn them if they let it become the norm. We shall see of course.
