Linden said that they didn't talk to anyone else. It doesn't mean its true, they may have kicked a few tires, but it sounds better to Green if they say "he was our man from day 1".

And think Green might be just fine. Better that we get him than he signs with someone else.

Our problems are not greatly centered around coaching. We have a few bigger problems to deal with.

A stronger vote in confidence would be "we interviewed multiple candidates before deciding that Travis is the best fit for our team moving forward." Regardless of whether Linden was being serious when he said that or not, it's plain stupid.

If there's anything Virtanen can learn from this, it's "How to reinvent your game 101".

Green came into the NHL as a top 6 player being counted on to score goals and put up points. During his career, he started to slow down, but still made contributions to the bottom 6 player.

Virtanen has never even solidified himself as a top 6 player in the NHL, but his junior pedigree is exactly that, a 40+ goal scorer. Maybe he can still be a serviceable bottom 6 player for the Canucks, but Green has plenty of work to do with him.

This picture is so trippy to me. Everything about it, from Lu to the damn coach of the canucks checking the current captain
Have a look at the play at 1:59 of this package:

Green goes in on the forecheck, decides to check Krajicek, and the puck drifts free along the boards; Henrik gets the puck, passes it up to Linden; Linden drops it back to Daniel along the right boards, who gives it back to Henrik. Green, meanwhile, races back to defend and tries to take the puck away from Henrik, but Henrik spins away from Green and sends it to an open Sami Salo for the one-timer that makes the score 5-1.
