Things are sure to heat up. 10am eastern time is my prediction.
Probably some rumoured tweets of teams talking about player x followed
By a couple big name RFA signings.
As far as oiler news go, I'm thinking that they will go hard for a top 4 d-man.
PRV and Hemsky likely being dangled. Can't help but think we are targeting
The blue jackets, devils, rangers and hurricanes.

Flyers have re-acquired goalie Brian Boucher from the canes.
As per Bob Mckenzie

From main board:
confirmed by McKenzie:
Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie

CAR trades goalie Brian Boucher and prospect Mark Alt to PHI for minor leaguer Luke Pither.

Apparently, according to Twitter, Khabby is listed as "injured" so Danis is up, and VandeVelde is up as an extra center as well.

From the Oilers Twitter, the overview of Camp

Edmonton Oilers ‏@EdmontonOilers
#Oilers camp opens this morning with medicals & fitness testing at Rexall Place; 26-man camp roster includes 3G 8D 15F

Edmonton Oilers ‏@EdmontonOilers
GOALIES: Danis, Dubnyk, Khabibulin DEFENCE: Peckham, Petry, Potter, N-Schultz, J-Schultz, Smid, Teubert, Whitney, Sutton

Edmonton Oilers ‏@EdmontonOilers
FWD: Belanger, Eager, Ebs, Gagner, Hall, Hartikainen, Hemsky, Horcoff, Hordichuk, RNH, Paajarvi, Petrell, Smyth, VandeVelde, Yakupov, Jones

So the Oilers actually have 3G, 9D and 16F, but obviously Khabby, Sutton and Jones are not healthy.

Last bit from Oilers Twitter

Edmonton Oilers ‏@EdmontonOilers
Defenceman Andy Sutton and forward Ryan Jones are listed on the #Oilers camp roster but are not present due to injury

Any word if thesoontobeexcaptainshawnhorcoff showed up.

Sammy tweeted almost a hour ago that he was on his way to the rink.

I wonder if they have him up just encase there's an injury to a forward, because a guy like VV is a center first, but could play other positions.

Yeah, probably. They might have also promised him first call up.
I expect harti will make the team (Jones) and prv will remain
With the barons all year.

Teams don't make promises of roster spots to players like VV. especially considering they made no promises to Schultz when he signed.

if we could get some value for Belnager, I don't think we lose a lot by playing VandeVelde.

Montreal was 25th in the league last year in face-off % and Gomez had the best % on the team. If we could get a 2nd or a depth dman, that could work for us.

Then everyone would have their excuse back for Horcoff. Saying he has to handle too much responsibilities and make up for kids who can't handle D zone draws.

Belanger fills a role that is important. His job isn't to get points. It's to win draws and kill penalties. He does it well. Hopefully Kruger can understand what Renney couldn't.

Well as for points with Belanger, I would expect him to be better then last season, he had been laser consistent up until last year, no reason not to see him bounce back.

Looks like Khabby just hasn't been cleared yet. Nothing new. He still could be back for the season and Oilers expect clearance it sounds like. Danis just precautionary. But probably just getting a call up so Nelson has to actually play Roy down in OKC :sarcasm:

In previous seasons he didnt have to babysit kids like RNH and Gagner. Besides his short stint on the point on the PP he played solely a defensive role.

I like Belangers defensive role. But I would like him to generate some more offense than he did last year as I'm sure everyone would.

I don't think VV being up means Belanger or any other centre is leaving at all. It makes a lot more sense to have VV wasting away in the press box while guy's like Paajarvi, Hartikainen, Petrell get primo ice time in the AHL.

With VV being up, could mean Belanger could be gone. I would say NYI as a possible option, maybe the NYR.

I think you're barking up the wrong tree. Krueger said he wanted 15 forwards up for camp so he could practice with 5 full lines. Presumably, one forward is getting cut, along with one D and G Danis. It shouldn't be that hard to guess who gets the short straw -- basically one of VV, PRV, Harti, or Petrell. The other three stay until Jones comes off IR and then another one gets sent down (this is assuming no other injuries occur in the meantime, a big "if" considering the injury history with this team).

+1 ..
Petrell will have to clear waivers so it'll be VV going down first and one of Paajarvi or Harti once Jones returns.
