What are some potential trades that could work with teams in cap trouble where we take on a big contract (to get it off their books) along with a pick and/or a good young player?
Tampa is the obvious one, so some combination of an expensive older guy who can still play like Johnson, Killorn, or Gourde + an RFA (who they can't afford to pay) like Cernak, Cirelli, or Sergachev in exchange for picks or some of our prospects would be great. Seems like we have the cap space for something like Johnson, Gourde, and Cernak for some combo of prospects and picks. Not sure what we would have to give up though.
Arizona, Toronto, Vegas, etc have some pieces too. What trades would you guys like to see Stevie make? Would be great to get some actual good young players who can help us start to win now instead of more second and third rounders that won't turn into contributors for 2-3 years (if they ever do).
