No room for Perron on LW unless we trade one or more of Tatar, Drouin or Domi. Hopefully none of them for Perron straight up.

Perron is a right hand shot and has played RW last season in St-Louis. Yes, he can play both sides.

How does it leak to the media before the player even knows about the trade? Are the phones tapped?

Guys have their contacts. In Weekes' case, he probably got this news from someone from the Pens' org or the Panthers' org. Or he got corroborating reports from both sides, so he went public with it.

If Perron can play RW for the Blues, he can play RW for the Habs. We also have Lehkonen who is good on the RW side. Byron and Tatar can play both sides too.

If Perron is the only fit for the size/skating/ with some scoring ability... you going to say no and sit back and do nothing? It's a 2 year contract. We can be picky all we want but the reality is, we are not going to be able to cheery pick Laine away from the Jets for the price we want to pay.
Dang, that would continue our utter dismantling of the Blues, or rather reconstruction of the Blues, since Edmunson is by way of Carolina. Can we afford both Perron and Pietrangelo, while we rebuild the Blues? :skeptic:

Pitts burg gonna have to get rid of Johnson. Matheson is as "good" as Johnson on D....
This reads like a scene from Austin Powers...

Pierre Lebrun on TSN hockey just said ‘he’s told at this juncture the Habs don’t intend to get in on the Laine sweepstakes’
That’s very upsetting. Never even try for the elite players. He’s built a team of 2nd and 3rd liners and not one elite difference maker of a player.

Indeed but 99% of his trades are scrap and bottom players or guesses.

We need a young power forward scoring and we will get another 30 + winger overrated and probably overpaid.

Laine doesnt have the right attitude or character for this team. Bergevin will always take character and attitude over skills any day

being ppg last season and scored 40 goals at 19 is not good attitude , once again , Bergevin will pick up the garbage overrated ''warrior players'' that will never get us nowhere.

Imagine if he re-signs everybody that comes ufa and rfa and keep everybody. 6 years minimum of pure mediocrity and 2 anchor contracts of 18.5m for 6years +
