Kopitar is pretty much done. No GM should ever be looking for 30+ year olds with multiple contract years left.

Eh, I could see it being a very real thing for a team whose cup window is on the cusp of slamming shut.

Some GM who realizes that they have 1 or 2 years left to win before being forced to dismantle? Sure, then Kopitar makes sense, because you're going all-in.

Are we that team, though? Hell no.

He can give insight into face-offs, working the half-wall on a PP, protecting the puck, help him with vision, awareness, decision making. He can't teach skill to someone like Brown, but he doesn't have to. Logan has skill. What he could use is listening to a guy who's been there and did it at a high level for a long time.

He would do all of that more effectively if he were a coach or consultant. And he wouldn’t pass on any of his bad habits

Grigorenko would be a savvy signing out of the KHL

he’s really developed over the last few years... left as a 30 point player... comes back as a 60 point talent

still only 25

development like Dadonov

That's good to hear we have a pressence in Russia. That's too big a pool of talent to just almost outright ignore. Would be nice to find some FAs who are older and more developed to plug into the lineup in the future.
