Montreal
Watch Simmons tonight,
Could he help habs
No, this is exacly why i hate the fact that Montreal are actually overperforming. We will end up being buyers insteads of selling smartly to make the future brighter for longer. We seen Bergevin is capable of the best and the worst, this bubble wild card team coming in into the playoffs might make him think this team can actually achieve something big with an additional vet, lets get real simmonds won’t come cheap and will cost assets that can help Montreal in the future.

Wouldn’t mind finding a way to get Fowler out of Anaheim.
Signed 7 years after this year. They seem to be retooling

Mete-Weber
Fowler-Petry
Romonov-Juulsen
Fleury?-Brook

Along with other moves made could have a solid D.

Fleury + Ikonen + 2020 2nd

Hudon or Benn if roster players wanted?

Give or take

Fowler has a 4 teams trade list and Montreal is not on it.

As I mentioned in the previous version of this thread, an article by the Ducks's beat writer is suggesting that that Cap Friendly has the clause wrong. Apparently, he can only name 4 teams he doesn't want to be traded to, the rest are fair game.

If Montreal was on Fowler's 4 team trade list (which is doubtful), the return for him starts with a 1st rounder or top prospect. When we think about acquiring a top pair dman we have to ask ourselves what would we want for Petry or Weber. That's what other teams are going to want for their top dmen.

Voila!

Benn or Hudon are NOT interesting pieces for other teams, especially not if Habs get a top 4 D in return.

If you're not willing to give a 1st or a top prospect, you won't get the Muzzin, Fowler and co.

That's totally fair and how it should be.

And since MB doesn't want to trade his first pick, Fowler is not an option for us.

the 1st is not on the table for a rental player.

No disagreement there. Fowler is not a rental player.

What I meant to say, in a larger ambit, it appears to me that MB wouldn't trade his 1st, even if it's not a rental player. I just don't think it's in play.

I’m not opposed to trading for Fowler, and I’m not equating the two BUT I’d be perfectly fine if Bergevin targeted Gardiner as a UFA in lieu of adding a dman via trade.

Gardiner would be a buy-low type signing imo, and if put with a good defensive dman (Weber) I think he could be very effective.

Another guy I like as a ufa target is Ferland, we need some physicality on our wings imo.

Tatar-Domi-Gallagher
Ferland-Kotkaniemi-Drouin

A good combination of skill and grit on those lines.

I doubt that gets it done. Would you trade Drouin for Fowler?

Whatever fixes the PP at this point, it is a national embarrassment. Where would the team be with a PP?

Easy answer: we're 1 point out of 2nd in the conference, so 2nd in the conference, easily. And, we'd probably be 5th to 2nd in the whole league.

Crazy. But what's crazier is we haven't even tried the players in their best spots. It's like last year all over again when we went half the year without Galchneyuk on the right half wall, and used Pacioretty there for long stretches - even when Pacioretty himself said he didn't like playing there.

just crazy, pathetic, embarrassing.

I don't get it. They put that wanker Agostino on the PP, but they won't get creative with positioning. We have one of the highest scoring 5 on 5 teams in the league, but they don't use the same positioning the PP?

Because 5vs5 and PP are very different.

It's completely bizarre. I get that sometimes a bottom-6 guy can be a PP specialist. Yvon Lambert would play the PP for the Habs even though he was on their 4th line. But he at least produced!

I do not get why Agostino is still on a PP unit when it is NOT working.

Has any journalist asked Chu Rien?

Lambert played a lot with Riseborough and Tremblay. Scotty's 4th line was Jarvis and Gainey
