Trade: Duchene to DET

What does everyone think it will take? DET's 1st would almost have to be involved (and thats fine, DET has no shortage of prospects who should join the club in the next several seasons). Filppula sign and trade? Smith? Mrazek?

We don't have the pieces to get him. It would cost us a prime Zetterberg/Datsyuk, not that we would ever do that trade just the Avs don't move him for a downgrade or a quantity package. Duchene is as untouchable as players can get & the Avs would be stupid to move him.

Considering they aren't even interested in trading him for the second and continuing either the Mac and Drouin show or Mac and Jones. That should tell you his value.

well, DET has a highly talented prospect pool (dont think Hank or Pav would have to be part of any deal) and at some point there are going to be casualties. The price would be high, but DET is in a position where they could afford to if they wanted. I've heard rumblings they'd like to acquire a 2C so Hank and Pav can play on the same line. They also wanted to add more scoring. Duchene fits both (and at an affordable hit albeit for only 1 more year). At one point, there were rumors about Duchene being shopped.

Is it a likely scenario? Certainly not.
