You might want to revisit your lines. You've got Pageau re-signing but not in the lineup

Hainsey has got to be included in that group. But i like where your heads at.
Hainsey is the NHL equivalent of old yeller. It would not surprise me in the least if he had a gentleman's agreement that he not be traded or that he gets input to destination

He is number 13 on Frank Serevalli's board ahead of all the other sens outside of Pageau, id guess he has a pretty good idea.

Trade list:

Pageau
Duclair

Nothing against these guys, but they're really the only two expendables with trade value, so we might as well try to get a few more picks and hope we have enough pick currency to move up the draft.

That's pretty much it. I would like to move Zaitsev, but I doubt anyone wants him. The rest of the fodder we have pretty much need to stay to have enough warm bodies, and to keep our kids in Belleville for the year.

Win the Calder Cup in the AHL and finish in 2nd last (comfortably) with that awful NHL lineup.

Would be looking to move these guys for best assets possible, these are likeily to return something decent from the right team:

Ducliar, Pageau, Nilsson, White

Would move the following for anything really:

Andy, Anisimov, Namestnikov, Tierney, Ennis, Hainsey, Boro.

Ideally would look to include assets to get out from the insane Zaitsev deal but that would likely be as tough as moving Bobby, that trade confuses me as much as the Hoffman move.

Pierre Lebrun mentioned yesterday on TSN1200 that he thinks the Sens would like to see what it would take to re-sign Hainsey.

Great work.

Looking at those line-ups, have we ever saw an organization winning both the Stanley Cup and the Calder Cup during the same season? Damn.

I think you guys will retain some players.

I remember mentioning last year that you'd sign some vets to fill the roster for this year. The idea drew some criticism from some here, but it happened. Brown, Zaitsev, Hainsey, Anisimov, Ennis & Namestnikov were all vets that were signed.

It will happen again. Teams need some vets and need to reach cap floor.

My guess is that the Sens will trade 2 or 3 roster players and 2 BSens guys. IMO,with the exception of 2 or 3 guys, the offers will be in the low side for the other potential rentals so PD will opt not to trade rather than giving them away,

I hope Paul signs a multi year contract. Something like 4 years at 1.75 million a year. I liked what I’ve seen from him and think he will be a good bottom six player for us. I also think he’s ok with signing at a lower cap hit if it means he’ll secure himself a spot in the NHL for the foreseeable future.

I think that is a bit aggressive. No reason to go 4 years. I’d prefer 2 or 3 at $1.5 or less. He is essentially providing replacement level value.

How many playoff teams does he crack the top 10-11 on ?

It's aggressive but I like what I see in Paul and think he'll be worth more than that cap hit right away.

I'd also be ok with hard balling him and going short term with a low cap hit as well.

I just want to see chaos. That's all I have been conditioned to enjoy with this team.

Pageau to MTL
Duclair for Puljujarvi

Throw me a wild card and have us move Logan Brown for a miscellaneous veteran winger.

Then start the summer rumors that Erik Karlsson and San Jose want to part ways and Daniel Alfredsson is trying to start a GoFundMe to buy the team.

I'm just joking though, Anderson to FLA for a 3rd.

To add to the OP...

- Anthony Duclair 4.25M x 4 years
Comparables: Gustav Nyqvist, Kyle Palmieri, Mike Hoffman, Chris Kreider, Ryan Dzingel, Michael Grabner, Mikkel Boedker (pre-Ottawa)

- Connor Brown 3.75M x 5 years
Comparables: Bryan Rust, Jakob Silfverberg, Michael Frolik, Joonas Donskoi, Brett Connolly, Brandon Tanev

- Dylan Demelo 3.25M x 4 years
Comparables: Jason Demers, David Savard, Michal Kempny, Nick Jensen, Michael Stone, Greg Pateryn

- Nick Paul 1.5M x 2yrs
Comparables: Zach Sanford, Lawson Crouse, Zach Aston-Reese, Tyler Bertuzzi

- Filip Chlapik 1.5M x 2yrs
Comparables: Mark Jankowski, Joel Eriksson-Ek, Ivan Barbashev, Jason Dickinson, Zemgus Girgensons

- Christian Jaros 1M x 2yrs
Comparables: Dylan Demelo, Colin Miller (previous contract), Juuso Riikola, Mackenzie Weegar, Josh Brown

Fowards (including Gaborik): 38.5M
Defense: 20M
Goalies: 3.3M
Total team cap hit: 61.8M - Which is comfortably above the cap floor. Ample room to take on bad contracts for the right price or stay put.

By next season, Bobby Ryan, Artem Anisimov, C. Brown, Brady Tkachuk, Anthony Duclair, Colin White, Nick Paul, Filip Chlapik, Nikita Zaitsev, Dylan Demelo, Thomas Chabot, Mike Reilly, Christian Wolanin, Anders Nilsson will all have played 3+ years in the NHL.

Vets don't have to be has-been's. If Sens execs have learned anything about foresight and budget management, they'll focus on signing their own talent instead of chasing character and locker room presence.

That's how they ended up paying Smith/Anisimov + Zaitsev/Ceci + Namestnikov + Hainsey more than Mark Stone. Nevermind bringing in Boedker instead of flipping Hoffman for picks...

Pierre Lebrun mentioned yesterday on TSN1200 that he thinks the Sens would like to see what it would take to re-sign Hainsey.

That’s goofy. I understand Boro and DeMelo. Hainsey? Unless they feel that the young RHR D are close, and Hainsey would only require a year deal vs multiple for DeMelo.
