The Columbus series was a failure of both goaltending and the rest of the team, at different times in different games. It was a total team effort.

Yup can't blame goaltending for the apple this team put up in the game 5 clincher against Columbus. Everyone was bad at different points of the series.

As much as I like reading comments from fellow Leafsnation. You have to go with the goalie with the best chance for Winning the Cup and right now that’s Campbell.
Andersen might came in and help Leafs win the Cup like Holtby and Murray but if playoffs is to start today, even if Andersen is 100%, Campbell is starting.

Falling back on Fred would be more of an emotion based response since the only argument for him would be "the devil you know." The idea that we would even start a cold goalie coming off injury with question marks to his mental game over a guy currently on a roll doesn't make a lot of sense when talking about transitioning from Game 56 to Game 1.

Re: Campbell, he's a guy with no track record whatsoever, so seeing him bounce back is trying to get an understanding of how he plays over a longer sample size. The fact that he can bounce back is a sign he can work through adversity.

Not saying we couldn't ever go back to Fred if Jack struggles, but the idea that the net belongs to him just because doesn't sound like a compelling argument.

Everything we've seen this year tells us Campbell is the guy we go to in the playoffs. Fleury lost his job to Murray, who lost his job to Jarry. SC winning goalie lost his job to a AHL Goalie, who won the cup, who then lost his job to the next guy. This is really no different than the Andersen/Campbell situation. It sucks for Andersen but at the end of the day, its pro sports, dog eat dog. I don't see how we keep Andersen, Hyman , Rielly, one of them ahs to go and at this point Campbell has shown to be a more than adequate replacement for Andersen, no one has shown they can replace Hyman or Rielly. the only concern I have about Campbell is he seem to be a bit fragile between the ears. What happens if he lets in a bad goal or 2 in the playoffs, does he forget about it and play great or does it eat him up?
