Sorry guys haven't gone through the whole thread. Has the starter been confirmed? I'm assuming Lupul is still out.

I really want us to win this one.. If we can play a full 60 minutes, there's no reason why we can't. Dion will have a monster game, rielly will pot his first, and Franson will still suck. Book it

My best guess at the lines and pairings.

Since we're past the 1/10th point of the year, I've decided to drop the 3rd year and just go with 2yr stats (including this year) now. I'll be going with just this year soon enough.

You're not assuming that they will regress to the average, you are assuming they will regress toward the average from the extreme highs and lows. So if your shooting percentage starts out unusually high, it's reasonable to assume it will drop over time and vice versa.

You don't think San Jose is going to maintain a 4 goal-per-game average -- a full .5 higher than the next placed team -- for the rest of the season do you? Or that Buffalo, Philly, and the Rangers are going to score 1.5 goals-per-game or less for the rest of the season? Or that nine starting goaltenders will finish the season with a .930 save percentage or better?

Apply the same logic to the leafs' current shooting percentage of 11.95. Do you think goalies are going to average barely over .88 save % against us the entire year?

It's also possible our average number of shots taken go up which would make our shooting percentage go down and goalies save % go up but not necessarily be a bad thing for the Leafs.

Well you have to remember that the smaller the sample, the more drastically the numbers change. One high shot, low goals game from us would drastically decrease our SH% for example. Wouldn't change anything during the season but when you have a couple of terrible games like the Chicago one it drastically changes the averages this early in the season.

It really seems Bernier is Carlyes liking, I don't understand this because Bernier doesn't have a second save, when he's caught out of position he's yet to make a save( see Edmonton goal off boards and Bickell goal against Chicago), Reimer does that but at least is able to recover with incredible pad saves. Bernier is not impressing so far, its not a hug upgrade on Reimer.

Bernier's first few games were clear upgrades due to the rebound control. He hasn't had that for at least a week though.

Really? I think Bernier is outperforming Reimer so far. Also, the reason he doesn't make those second save is because he rarely gives out any.

MVP so far is tied with Bernier/Kessel/Lupul.

He started good, but overall he's not proving to be the one goalie everyone thought him to be, and Reimer hasn't gotten much opportunity so far, once the games played are about even, we can't say Reimer is bad, its a new season, and the most games he's played this season and in the preseason were fairly good.

Bernier hasn't been as quiet in the net lately, there is no disputing that.

Everyone that had a clue knew the season was going to be split close to even. Reimer has had opportunity, he got hurt in his last start and then had the flu. He'll play... especially if he keeps winning

Reimer ****ed up versus Ottawa and suffered a cold during the last week. Add in Bernier performance during first two weeks and that's the reason why he hasn't got any starts.

Is there somewhere to watch the game later tonight (12pm-ish) or tomorrow online? Hoping to watch it without knowing the score :P
CBC does a replay of the game after the "After Hours" segment. Condensed into about an hour, even less.

Probably looking at 1:30 - 2 AM eastern for that air.
