If you really want to trade Krug you should get back a proven 1st line player like Taylor Hall not like Wayne Simmonds. All other options than 1.st line guy are bargain deals for the buyer.

As for the draftpick, any other pick than 1-5 overall is poor deal for the bruins.

Team does not need Chiarelli kind of wheeling dealing...

I feel the same

Krug is a very good PP specialist and also good at stretch passes

but when the game closes up like the way the Blues played, he provides little to no impact

Bruins can't pay everyone plus sign all the young guys

Bruins should start checking the market to see what they could get for him. Sell high

Best defender in the cup finals on the ice for 1 game, 2nd best defender behind mcavoy for one game. Worst defender on the ice for 3 games.

Tough to find out how you weigh that but not good.

No one is trading a first line player for a guy who has graded out as a 3rd pairing defender 5v5 because he excels as an elite power play specialist. Year after year he gets exposed positionally defending in the playoffs and it doesn’t work out. Even when the bruins had a near all time high powerplay percentage he still struggled 5v5

I was always harsh on Krug and open minded about trading him but the whole playoffs he was an absolut beast. He really took it to on another level. The best player with Rask. Surely not the reason we lost. Would be hard to deal him now ...

Only reason to trade krug will be if we cant live with his contract ask

Being small and nearing 30 is bad news for dmen. Not many have done well much past 31 years of age

I think our window to win is next 2-3 years so my vote is sign him and suffer the contract later when we are rebuilding anyhow

But im thinking 5-6 mill a year... if hes up at 7 or greater we prob need to deal him

Well, then kiss him goodbye, there is no way he signs for anything less than 7 and probably more. If I'm Sweeny , I get to talking extension right away, if I can't get a deal done then adios , amigos. The FO was right when they identified size of D being a liability in he PO's. It's great to have a PP specialist on your team but what good does it do when there are no penalties called when it matters most?

I want him to remain a Bruin.

If he isn’t. Who produces any offence from the back end outside of McAvoy?

I understand Krug being a divisive player, but did anyone really not think he had an exceptional playoffs?

Its nice to have vaakanainen, lauzon, zboril with full ahl season under their belts

None might be elite pp guys... but mcavoy has the goods to prob takeover as our number 1 guy... and theres soooooo many small little puck movers entering nhl these days

Can prob get a guy like will butcher to be a 3rd pair guy without much problem if mcavoy wasnt getting the job done

I still vote to keep krug... but if we do decide to move him we are still looking damn good for blueline depth

I like Krug, but you gotta wonder if now is the perfect opportunity to cash in. Lots of hype around him after this SCF. People viewed him as our best player (PP-QB on the best one in the league). While those players are obviously valuable, he may have more valuable to other teams than us with mobile D's in McAvoy and Grzelcyk already on the team. If someone surrenders a late 1st for him? Islanders/Preds at #23/#24. Knights at #17

He is worth more than a late first alone.

Of course its Carlo. I mean he had more goals than Krecji, Bergeron, Debrusk, Krug, and McAvoy in the cup finals while having the same as Marchand and Pasta.

Um, No. Krug has scary high value; our best asset at moment. He’ll garner first liner definitely

If the plan is to re-sign him, I wouldn't be shocked if it doesn't happen until after the expansion draft. No point in signing him because they'd you'd have to protect him. If you don't sign him you leave him exposed because you know he's going to re-sign with you no matter what.

He is a UFA 1 year before the expansion draft.

Is the expansion draft next off-season? or am I a year early?
The expansion draft is in June 2021. Krug is a UFA in July 2020. The tough thing is, Lauzon, Zboril, Grzelcyk, and Clifton are also eligible in the expansion draft.

Krug's negatives weigh heavily against his positives. He is perfect #5 dman who plays maybe 15 min even strength a night making 3.8 million a year who can accumulate secondary assist on the PP. Playing him 23 minutes a night 5v5 against heavy teams in the playoffs? No bueno. Even strength he brings nothing. I'm sorry but it's true. And no matter how good he is on the PP it doesn't win you championships.
