we all have a 50 contact max ...he is one of those 50. in for a game in emerg maybe, but, for any length of time, he is a liability because he cannot handle the puck, and tends to always turn the wrong way. Harpur sucks (and may be worse), but, at least he would bring a physical dimension.

This is a stretch. If it wasn't him it would be another contract. Harpur is a healthy scratch in the AHL. Marincin is an elite AHL dman who isn't quite good enough for a full time NHL job. Quite the difference there.

I am fine with this as long as he is meant to play for the Marlies primarily and get a dozen injury starts at the NHL level as a backfill only.

Harpur isn't even good enough to play for the Marlies. This is an irrational take.

Marincin has been serviceable when called into action with the Leafs this year. He's getting the tough matchups with Holl lately, it doesn't always look pretty but he's really not hurting the team.
