Marner was/is a top 5 prospect; he proved he could hit 90+ points.

If we were trading him, it wouldn't be for the same thing, it would be for a dman.

A team building itself into a contender is going to trade their best scoring winger for prospect? A team rebuilding is going to trade their potential-franchise center and heir to Kopitar for an $11 million dollar winger?

Kings just chose Byfield over players similar-ish to Marner, why on earth would they add players to acquire a slightly older version on a $10 mil+ contract?
