This is what happens when you wait until the there's a last minute injury to acquire players.
Meh. This is depth for the Marlies. His numbers at the NHL level have been brutal.
Any upside to this guy? Advanced stats etc?
If Andersen is really "day-to-day", it is a weird move.
Makes me think it might me more serious than that. Those "groin injuries" to goalies can be quite tricky.
What do you mean they let "goalies leave"?
Because waivers... There's nothing we can do to avoid them.
You dont make sense here.
Understanding waivers and roster sizes will help you understand this move
Wow a few weeks, thanks Dr. WTF.Yup, Andy's injury is legit, likely down for a few weeks. Hutchinson will be able to help the Marlies once Andersen is back too... good move all around for the franchise.
Any upside to this guy? Advanced stats etc?
I understand but they chose to protect Sparks over other goalies
I understand but they chose to protect Sparks over other goalies
I am talking about the goalies that you never bothered to sign back in off season
I agree, would you trade spaghetti legs Marincin for McBackup? I would in a heartbeat! We should've just kept 3 goalies if McBackup was so valuable (>5th)
Holl and Marincin are rotting on the bench anyways
Which has zero bearing on this move. Hutch is going to the Marlies. Sparks is currently our starting goalie.
We needed another goalie on the Marlies regardless of who we kept on roster set day.
It was a 100% necessary as we needed a goalie with real NHL experience in the event of an injury. Losing both goalies who had this to waivers on the same day made this inevitable.I wouldn't have thought this was necessary, but at least people can stop complaining about Dubas not addressing our goaltending situation. More depth there is only a good thing I suppose

The cost is a 5th pick and some cap space.
