Johnsson does not belong in that spotLeafs can't even fit both Kapanen and Johnsson in their top-9 so where is Andrighetto going to go? If you trade Hyman, the lineup probably looks like this:
Marleau-Matthews-Nylander
Johnsson-Tavares-Marner
Kapanen-Kadri-Brown
Andrighetto would be on the Leafs 4th line while taking a winger off Matthews's 1st line. You want to downgrade that for the sake of an extra 3rd rounder?

No, he isn’t.... [mod]zaitsev is a cap dump
He is a cap dump. He isn't even close to being worth his contract. If he were to be traded, there would be a significant sweetener added to him.No, he isn’t.... [mod]
I really don't see why not. The key players are very young and yet to hit their prime.DMen normally requires 3-4 years and difficult to know if they really develop. Team find the best DMen in the 2nd-4th rounds for a reason, less risk and lower expectations. Forwards 1-2 years and can help the team sooner.
Leafs wanted a short rebuild and focused on Forwards. The last 2 drafts, the focus is on picking DMen, most notably Liljegren (draft steal). The current team is stocked with Forward being young, fast and high scoring players, but little with immediate DMen prospects.
Marner and Nylander have often been mentioned because finding quality DMan is extremely difficult. Wingers can be drafted and ready right away. The other option is waiting years for a player such as Liljegren to develop and waste the prime years of the Forwards. So the Leafs have drafted to build a pipeline of DMen, but can the team keep waiting or trade an All-Star Winger they can replenish each draft?
When did St Louis get inolved?
Apparently you don't know your hockey as well as you think, Jay.
Nah it's just an old Avs-Leafs thing. Back when we had Stastny the board was littered with 'Bozak +2nd' offers to the point where it's become a jokeNo clue what you mean. You do realize Bozak is in StLouis right?
This thread Colorado and TO.
Yet i dont know hockey haha
Andrighetto and a 3rd for hyman. Thoughts ?

I think you need to see one more year of performance before you can declare him to be at Matthews level. Other than last year his performance has been meh
I totally disagree...There is this notion that all picks are going to be better than the player offered. IF there was a redraft of the '14 draft. Nylander could easily be a top 5 with Ekblad, Ehlers, Pastrnak, Nylander, Point (in no order).
Mackinnon score less points in his first 2 years than Matthews did in his first. So wait... MacKinnon needs to repeat last years performance before he is at Matthews level?
Shouldn't Matthews have a single season at MacKinnon's level first?
This stuff is embarrassing.
It's always the same handful of guys that come to the main boards and just trash the reputation of Leafs fans here.
Mackinnon score less points in his first 2 years than Matthews did in his first.
Matthews is the second highest goal scorer as a center for the last 2 years.
Mackinnon took 5 years to be a point per game.
NHL.com ranks Matthew over Mackinnon.
Maybe you should be embarrassed
