I'm changing my mind about this trade, no way this can be worse than Kostka.

I just heard his interview. He sounds like a well spoken guy. Genuine and coherent. JML offered for him to stay his house as well since they are pals, apparently good friends off the ice as well and going to his wedding over the summer. I hope he turns out well for us, randy can get defensemen to play well.

He is garbage and will do nothing for the team.

Gardiner should be playing.

Why did we need to throw away a 4th round pick only to have the acquired player sit in the press box?

Makes no sense to me.

When O'Byrne was asked about if it would be weird playing against the Habs as a Leaf...

"It will be a little different, but I'm happy to be on this side... the good side"

Lol.

Lol.

What he meant by the good side is that he is now on the proper side of the ice so that he can score for the Habs.

Ya, that's exactly what he meant. I took it more as "Montreal was terrible to play in"

Now run back to your board little one.

I have seen you say this like 5 times now. For the last time he didn't get into Toronto until a couple hours before the game started. He'll play tomorrow night.

He was dressed for, and, participated in the pre-game skate ffs!

No excuse for him not playing against the Broad Street Bullies! :p:

Also, most, if not all the players the Rangers acquired on TDD, played for them later that same day! :amazed:

Deleting the pictures the girl took of his teammate fooling around with some chick.

Who was the rumoured player in that anyway?

You got it. It was said to be Huet.

If the girl pressed charges then O'Byrne may not have been able to play in the US again and lost his career I believe.

BTW, as for O'Byrne, good teammate, big body and decent. Just obviously a depth d-man and a support player. He's not a specialist at anything.

The only times I've really noticed him has been with a stand-out defensive play (great block last night, and he seems to be doing a good job clearing the crease in front of Reimer as well), or taking a good chance to jump into the rush.

He's been pretty quiet, otherwise, which is good for a defenseman like him, in my opinion. Less than 16 minutes a night in his first two games, bumped up to over 19 minutes last night while Carlyle gave Phaneuf a bit of a rest.

I think he's the kind of guy that Carlyle can get some confidence in, especially once we start playing an even tighter defensive game in the playoffs, but I don't expect much more than a good 5-6 D who will buy into our new system well.

Huge upgrade over Kostka. I like the way Liles has been playing but if I had to choice Gardiner or Lilies I would pick Gardiner to play.

Same, at the moment. After that second goal on Thursday, I knew Liles was gonna be out for Gardiner last night, and he brought it for sure. He looks completely re-focused, and I love that he's taking his defensive responsibilities more seriously. O'Byrne could be a good, solid partner for him as he develops more of that aspect of his game, and they could make a great 3rd-pairing in the playoffs (I'm expecting Carlyle to lean heavily on Fraser and Franson in the post-season).
