Riley Nash is on the IR with a 2.75M cap hit

Even if CBJ has retained half, seems an odd use of cap space

I don't understand. Can someone explain this?

They can put Andersen and Nash on LTIR, trade for Hall, and once playoff begins the cap will no longer in place so they are literally getting rental players for free AND reactivating the injured players fresh for the playoffs.

The Hawks used this loophole beautifully in their 2015 run when Kane was injured in the regular season and they added a lot of rentals for their cup run.

LTIR, Riley Nash will be a depth forward once he's back in the playoffs. I would think we are getting Taylor Hall, because if we were getting Foligno they would have just included that into the deal

Hes a UFA so will be a strictly current season transaction.

Doubt he will be brought back. Hopefully can play well in the playoffs when called upon
