Oh shit it’s happening
Good depth aquisition for a long playoff run.
Stop the presses.
71% defensive zone starts holy moley.... defensive forward first and foremost by the looks of things.
Riley Nash is on the IR with a 2.75M cap hit
Even if CBJ has retained half, seems an odd use of cap space
Leafs going to put Freddy and Nash on LTIR when they acquire Hall with no retention for cheap
At first this is odd, but likely an LTIR move. This looks like a setup for something else
I don't understand. Can someone explain this?
We acquired Riley Nash just to sit on LTIR, which through a bunch of salary cap voodoo, gives us more cap space.
Zeke called it!
All hail zeke!
I would be keeping a close eye now. Something else has to be coming
Yet we had to trade 2nds for similar players in Boyle and Plekanec.
out 4-6 weeks. Headed to LTIR, won’t count against the cap until playoffs, when it doesn’t matter.
Perfect center depth at 0 cost.
They can put Andersen and Nash on LTIR, trade for Hall, and once playoff begins the cap will no longer in place so they are literally getting rental players for free AND reactivating the injured players fresh for the playoffs.
The Hawks used this loophole beautifully in their 2015 run when Kane was injured in the regular season and they added a lot of rentals for their cup run.
LTIR, Riley Nash will be a depth forward once he's back in the playoffs. I would think we are getting Taylor Hall, because if we were getting Foligno they would have just included that into the deal
Hes a UFA so will be a strictly current season transaction.
Doubt he will be brought back. Hopefully can play well in the playoffs when called upon
R. Nash, my favourite non-leafs player...You think he will keep #61, need to know for my next jersey buy...
