Pretty sure Ben Hutton was a top 4 D for the Canucks at some point lol. Great 7th-8th man depth defender to add for the playoffs, overall excellent moves by Dubas he's clearly going all in.

Lots of cap flexibility now, certain players can get reps in and guys who need rest can get some. Hopefully the guys with lingering injuries can get closer to 100% come playoff time; nip anything in the bud that need to be.

I'd expect the Leafs to want to re-sign him to a 1 year deal for next season regardless. We've been linked to him for awhile.

Better offense and a whole lot more experience playing tougher minutes. Sure he's not great or anything but I think he has a higher ceiling of playing ok than Marincin if we run into injuries.
