If an RD goes down Dermott can move over, if an LD then Hutton steps in. Lets hope Liligren/Sandin gets some reps heading down the stretch.

I would have like Oleksiak, but this is a solid depth move. Plus side is it moves Marty Marincin down the depth chart :thumbu:

Dallas still in the race with games in hand over Nashville and Chicago so it was unlikely they were going to part with him unless it was an overpayment. Agreed thou good depth and it keeps Marincin far far away from the roster :)

Marincin nightmares can be put to rest; don't know a whole lot about him but sounds like a good cheap add.

It's the right type of depth they needed, different than Sandin & Liljegren, sounds like he's a good penalty killer with good numbers to show. He has some experience playing heavy minutes, over the past few seasons he's put up quite a few 20+ minute games; over a long stretch in 2019 with Vancouver, he was among the league leaders in minutes played where he played 30+ minutes twice. That's what you want when your depth is good but unproven in Sandin & Liljegren. In the case of an injury, hopefully they breakout but they can at least count on Hutton to be mediocre in a high minute role; he's good insurance that could fill a PK void.

Can he play both sides or just left?
