Top Jets 2.0 Games

Feel free to post any standout games you can think of. The more obscure the better.

For starters I'll do my top 10 of games I've attended live.


1) Game 3 vs. Nashville, 2018 Playoffs (May 1, 2018) - Crazy comeback. Not much more needs to be said here.

2) Game 1 vs. Minnesota, 2018 Playoffs (Apr. 11, 2018) - First playoff win for the new squad. What a night.

3) Game 3 vs. Anaheim, 2015 Playoffs (Apr. 20, 2015) - The whiteout returns after 19 years. The loudest building in the league somehow manages to be even more insane in the playoffs.

4) First Preseason Game vs. Columbus (Sept. 20, 2011) - The commentators summed it up perfectly. "I've never seen a playoff atmosphere for the first game of the (pre)season".

5) Game 4 @ Minnesota, 2018 Playoffs (Apr. 17, 2018) - Experiencing a playoff win on the road is amazing. I highly recommend it.

6) Teemu Returns To Winnipeg (Dec. 17, 2011) - One of the best people to ever lace 'em up and a true superstar.

7) Game 5 v. Minnesota (Apr. 20, 2018) - A playoff series win and in comfortable fashion. Goodbye "never won a series" chirps.

8) First Road Game @ Minnesota (Dec. 27/2014) - This was my first trip to another team's barn with a couple busloads of Jets fans. Was a wild back and fourth game that the Jets won in overtime.

9) Road Game @ Arizona (Nov. 11, 2017) - Road wins are really memorable. Taking down the old franchise in the desert? Priceless.

10) Bryan Little 1st Hat Trick in Winnipeg (Dec. 5, 2014) - Was electric at MTS Centre when Little made it rain ball caps for the first time.

I was at the game and it was electric. Casey Desmith comes after a poor first period by Murray. First game, first shot he faces is an inside out, backhander, top-cheds-off-the-bar, from none other than captain handsome, for the first period hatty. Boom. The PA is still announcing the previous goal. The place goes nuts. Welcome to the NHL kid.

The lucky folks at home got a taste of vintage Bobby Cole.

2016-2017 first game of the season. Down to Carolina 4-1 in the third and came back to win in OT. What a crazy start to the season!

Yup, I was at that game! Laine's first ever Jets goal I believe...

Another beauty I was at shortly after that Canes game was the come from behind win against The Laffs with the GWG being scored in OT by Laine for his first ever Jets hat trick I believe...

The only other really memorable game off the top of my head would be the beatdown we laid on the Pens where we scored 5 goals in the first period - 3 of which were by Wheels for the hatty...

Good times indeed...

Shoot out goal by Bogo for the win against the hated Leafs with both owners there to witness it, up until these past playoffs that game game me shivers.

My favorites are the crazy comeback vs Nashville in the playoffs, and Laine’s first hat trick vs the Leafs in OT.

Jets beating the Flyers 9-8 in year one and a 7-0 victory over the Panthers (with the “Flying W” 5-on-1 break) stand out to me. Also, Perreault’s 4 goal game also against the Panthers sticks out. And of course the first game between the Jets and the Leafs after the 2016 draft, with Laine completing the comeback and the hat trick in OT after Auston Matthews whiffed on his chance.

1)Crosby’s first game (also my first game at the MTScentre) in Winnipeg. “Mario’s poolboy” chant was chorused thru out the game. Jets won 4-2 sending this first timer of Jets 2.0 happy.

2)My favourite Laine moments, I witnessed live. His first NHL goal against the Hurricanes, and Hattrick Laine against the Leafs.

3)When the Jets locked their first Playoff appearance, I was in Budapest watching it happen in the middle of the night.

Oh. And the game vs Blackhawks in March. I was watching Kings vs Red Wings at the Staples Center from second row and couldn’t wait to get back to the hotel to watch the Jets game. That’s when I truly realized how much I love the Jets.

This past year's Caps/Jets February 13th was particularly memorable for me. 1. I realized how clutch our team could be, and saw real playoff potential. 2. I watched it in the waiting room while my SO was having her gallbladder removed.

And yes, it was a very romantic Valentine's day in her not-private room.

The Condors first goal as a Jet, Big Buff rocked Gazdic and I was like right on the glass near it. Peluso even got stabby with Gazdic. And we won in a shootout. Awesome.

I was at the Laine stick sabre twirl goal that has been used in every Laine highlight video since haha.

4. Jets v 2.0 game 3 playoff whiteout vs. Ducks -2014
5. Laine hat trick in OT vs. Leafs -2016
6. Jets vs. Predators playoff comeback win 2018
7. March 6, 2016 - Jets vs Habs - Scheifele 1st hat trick - #55 scored his 1st goal of the game by stripping Subban of the puck
8. Teemus return to Winnipeg
9. Jets vs. Bruins Dec 6, 2011 -Breakaway goal by Little in the 3rd to beat the Cup champs
10. Jets v Penguins Oct 29, 2017 - 7-1 Wheeler hat trick

#1 - April 7th 2012 - Jets 4-3 OT loss to Lightning when Stamkos got goal #60 - The crowd was just giving it to Roloson and gave Stamkos a nice ovation when he scored.

Most good ones have been said (1st game, 9-8 game, Perreault 4 goals, Laine 1st hat trick, etc.)

One I particularly remember was 1/26/2016 vs Arizona, Ehlers 1st hat trick + 2 crazy Byfuglien goals (SHG and centre ice goal) - I couldn't stop smiling during that game
Also 4/10/2014 vs Boston - Hutch's second game and he was playing great, I was hoping he'd get his 1st win and then Kane tied it up late and they won in a shootout - for some reason I still remember this game
