The top goaltending prospect to have yet to play in the NHL is probably Josh Harding. He will play in the NHL next season and has to the potential to be a top 10 goalie in the league during his prime.

I guess he sorta doesn't count since hes played 3 games in the NHL... but he hasn't had his Calder year yet, so i think he is eligable. Hes already recorded one shotout in his 3 game stint.

Another Goalie I'd Probably go After Would Be Jimmy Howard, hes another guy who will be in the NHL next season, doens't have the upside of Harding but will still be a decent starting goalie. Hes played 4 games in the NHL but like i stated with Harding he hasn't had his calder year yet, so i'd say hes eligable.

Al Montoya Has lots of potential - argueably more than both of those two but is stuck behind Henrik Lundqivst, so we shouldn't see him in the NHL anytime soon.

Tuuka Rask Is another goaltender a ways away from the NHL but has loads of potential - id put him at 3 years before we see him in a Leafs jersey.

Marek Schwarz Has big game potential, but kinda fluked this year, not excelling in the WJC and not playing particularly well in the Czech league with Sparta. Hes probably the biggest Bust/Reward guy in this list.

As for the 2006 class, there aren't any real star goalies that have shown themselves yet, we'll just have to wait and see.

I think Jonathan Bernier is gonna be a good one...a 1st round pick in 2006, guy on HF radio loved him.

as for others...Rask, Montoya, Schwarz, Greiss..etc..like the others said.

What kind of future does Pavelec have in Atlanta as Lehtonen is their current and future franchise goaltender?

And also, when can we see Marek Schwarz play in St.Louis?

I have a feeling Schwarz is going to return to North America in the summer and either play for the Giants again, or sign with Peoria and play a season with Chris Beckford-Tseu. I think you can expect to see him in 1-2 years, maybe a third if the Blues are fine with Bacashihua and Sanford for the next couple of seasons.

With Lehtonen's chronic injury problems, Pavelec has a decent shot at starting a couple of games in Atlanta next year.

The Thrashers also have Dan Turple in the system.

I personally think Lehtonen is the best young goalie in the game....even with his injury problems (Which IMO will get solved as he's supposivly doing alot more cardio etc etc) he's still tops in my mind.
