Just wondering if anyone has a list right now of the top rated goalies for the 2004 draft. I'm sure Montoya went to number 1 after his WJHC performance

I can name a few. I am not sure what is available from OHL and some WHL.

Marek Schwarz
Al Montoya
Kevin Nastiuk

From the Q:

Julien Ellis
Jason Churchill
Julien Walsh
Loic Lacasse
Phillipe Roberge

Dave Brown (ECAC)

I don't know where McKee (ECAC) from Cornell fits but he's got some impressive numbers so far.

I'd say Schwarz over Montoya but that's just me.

I would rate Montoya right under Schwarz, then Dubnyk after.

David Brown from Notre Dame is a freshman so I think he's gonna have to opt in or lose his eligibility. He also started off the yr with 3 shutouts but has cooled off since and now Morgan Cey has returned from injury.

Brown was born before September 15th 1985 so he's automatically eligible.

Is it just me or has Dubnyk's stock fallen a ton? I have no idea how he's doing but I remember hearind him being a top 10 pick before this season and now he's the third best goalie in the draft?

Once again, I have no idea how he's been doing, don't know if it's him playing badly or Schwarz/Montoya just playing that much better.

Is there a chance that austrian goalie Matthias Lange gets drafted this year? He had a decent performance at the WJC despite being peppered with 50-60 shots a game...

I'd be pretty surprised to see him get drafted. From what I can tell he's the number two goalie on his NAHL team which is not impressive for a 19 year old. For comparisons sake, Ian Keserich is 17 and is the number one goalie on his squad in a much tougher division of the league (although I must admit that I'm unsure if Keserich has the same high stock as he did before the season started).

Thanks for the clarification...wasn't sure about what exactly was his DOB.

BTW, he recorded another shutout last nite against Bowling Green...he now leads the NCAA's in shutouts having posted 4 in 15 GP (technically tied but he's played in the fewest games amongst those tied).

lange ist still 18, and he is the usual number one goalie of the bulls,
but he wasn´t able to play for his team during the last month because of the u20 wjc und i think he was ill too ....

Another kid for 2005 is my sleeper.

Francois Proteau. Back up in Cape Breton this year. He is a december 86 born.

Very good goalie.

As I see, Cape Breton is doing a great job with their goalies : Fleury, Houle and Proteau

My mistake about his age. I'm not exactly sure how long he's been away but when looking at the stats of the other goaltender on his team it seems he might have been passed over as the number one ( Link to Billings Bulls Stats ). I could be wrong though.

I get to watch Dubnyk on a regular basis and he is a real good prospect. However, it must be a weak draft for goalies if he ranks #2. Big guy, not real quick.
