    Consider all aspects of skating.

    - Speed
    - Agility
    - Acceleration
    - Balance
    - etc

    1. McDavid
    2.
    3.
    4.
    5.

I assume everyone's list will start with 97

I guess McDavid is #1 but I'm inclined to add Crosby in the same tier. His agility, balance, strength on skates and edge work is insanely good.

I think Crosby pre-injury and McDavid would be a toss up for #1

Mcdavid got speed but he isn't strong on his skates nor is he even as good as bure was. Crosby got everything, just not as fast. Pre injury Karlsson best to me.

Which injury? At this point Crosby's peak has been way higher than McDavid's.

Hard to compare acceleration and top speed, too close imo. But Pavel was most definitely stronger on his skates.

Ill just rank who i believe is best in each category.
    Speed: Mcdavid, Wood, or Hall
    Agility: Kane, Gaudreau, and Mcdavid
Acceleration: Id say maybe Skinner or Mcdavid
Balance: Crosby and it isnt even close
Edge work: Crosby again and by quite a bit

Overall speaking its probably Mcdavid but at the same age Crosby wins this.

Cam Fowler has decent top end speed, but he's extremely agile and smooth. He takes a lot after Scott Niedermayer.

    1. McDavid
    2. Crosby
    3. Karlsson
    4. MacKinnon
    5. Duchene

Honestly, 4-5 can change from day to day

Add in the fact that I am only really considering high end players. Athansiou and Grabner are the usual picks for speed. Heck they may be faster than 97

Crosby all around skating is the best in the league. Maybe 97 is faster but I still take Sid.

Skinner has better edge work than Crosby and excellent balance / agility as well.

Did people not read the title? Why are defensemen being mentioned?

Not quite sure about that, one of the reasons why Crosby is amazing down low and in the corners is due to his edge work. Skinner is an amazing skater but Crosbys edgework is legendary.

I actaully believe he has the best edge work of any player who has ever played the game.

Skinner is forsure top 3 in the league but i still believe that Sid is above the other two by quite a bit
