Top 5 players in 2011 NHL Redraft

How many of the top 5 would still be there in a redraft?

Larsson is the best defenseman in the draft still so if a team needed him top 5 I guess he would place but there are a lot of good forwards ahead of him.

Defensive d are rare to find in todays NHL

The problem is there are so many good wingers from that draft that Huberdeau and Landeskog (who are both really good players still) might get edged out.

I don't know about this...
Hamilton is probably Larssons equal for a more offensive type dman but if I was a GM Id want Larsson preferably over Hamilton because pure defensive d are rare. Hamilton is probably voted as better in an HF poll but defensive dmen arent 'flashy' or put up a lot of points. So people underestimate their ability.

There is a reason Chiarelli made the move he did - Hall was too much value to give but Chiarelli saw in Larsson what defensive minded fans see in Larsson.

As a flames fan and watching Hamilton the past few years, I would much rather have larsson but lets not pretend that Chiarelli is a well-thought-out GM.

Flames really came out well from this draft. Not only getting Gaudreau, but picking up Hamilton for next to nothing. :D

Yeah Landeskog and Huberdeau both go Top 5 in a re-draft.

What Landeskog brings to the table besides points(Which is still a pretty consistent ~60 point guy) is quite significant, especially compared to the others from the draft.

And Huberdeau has 95 points in his last 113 games. Super underrated.

Re-draft would look something like...

Sheif
Kuch
Gaudreau
Landeskog
Huberdeau
Couturier
Trochek

Kucherov, Schiefele, Johnny, Couturier, Trocheck

So 0 for me, but I take Trocheck because he's a C. If he wasn't a C, I'd probably put Landeskog, Huberdeau or Dougie in that spot.

I think Scheifele will keep advancing his game to the point where he'll be considered #1. One of the more impressive picks in recent memory considering that he was viewed as a reach at the time.

Huberdeau and Landeskog are behind Couturier offensively and miles behind defensively. I see no argument for either
Couturier has had one offensive season. Let's see him repeat his success before calling him a better offensive player than some of those guys.
