Who are the players with the most value from the Quebec province? In other words, which Quebec player would get the biggest return on the trade market, if we don't consider the salary/contract?

Players who have been raised in Quebec (like Pageau and Pominville) can also be included.

Nothing against Pageau, but why him instead of Danault? (apart from the fact that you're a Sens fan, hehe) Both players are pretty much copycats (same age, same role, same offensive production).

My vote goes to Savard for the 4th time in a row.

Same role?

Correct me if i'm wrong here, but did Danault not play with Patches and Radulov in a mostly offensive role this year? While Pageau was a3C with a revolving door of linemates, top PKer and shutting down the leagues best.

Danault also had a revolving door of linemates and was a top PKer. He spent a part of the season with Radulov and Pacioretty but not all. Pageau's most frequent linemate was Hoffman, so it's not like he was just playing with scrubs.

A) Danault was 6th in Habs forwards Average SH/Time per game.. Not a top PKer at all. Pageau was 1st in OTT's PKing forwards playing more then double the time of Danault.

B) Danault spent like 65% of time with Patches and Radulov in the playoffs. 51% in the regular season. Pageau spent 41% of his season with Hoffman and Pyatt (Both inferior players to Patches and Radulov.)

OK, Pageau was used more defensively, I give you that. Danault was used partly on the 1st line because of Galchenyuk injury first, and then because 2 coaches in a row thought he was more reliable there than Galchenyuk, which says a lot. Advanced stats are also giving a major edge to Danault over Pageau :

- Danault is 3 months in a half younger

- Danault has better point per game (48,7%) than Pageau (40,2%)

- Danault has played 33 seconds less per game than Pageau

- Danault has positive Corsi per 60 minutes (+13,1) while Pageau has a negative one (-9,4)

- Danault has positive Fenwick per 60 minutes (+8,7) while Pageau has a negative one (-4,5)

- Danault is elite at generating shots (rated 8/10) while Pageau is just average (rated 5/10)

- Danault is excellent at suppressing shots (rated 7/10) while Pageau is above average (4/10)

If Pageau was a Habs player, you would understand. It's not that Danault is not a good hockey player. It's just that Pageau is a pain in the ass to play against, which is why a NHL coach would take him if given the choice between the two.

A poll has been made between the 2 and Pageau won 86-22. Not saying HF is gospel but it means most people think the same.
