Carkner is a damn good fighter and did real well this year against Godard and Boogard, but considering Colton Orr just embarrasses the guy every time they fight, NO WAY you can list him as the best.
It really is embarrassing watching what Orr does to Carkner....

Has anyone else accomplished as much as him this season? No. Yes Orr does embarrass him but which fighter hasnt? Orr got ko/kd by Parros of all people.

How can you call Prust the best pound for pound fighter in the league when Rypien destroys him everytime they fight?

Orr used to regularly have trouble with Brashear, but that doesn't take away from his other accomplishments.

Prust is one of the better fighters in the league. He'll fight anyone, and when he bites off more than he can chew, he still rarely loses.

All the guys that have been listed on the thread have trouble with somebody. Since BGL retired, you really can't point at one guy and say he's the undisputed heavyweight of the NHL. Orr does have Carkner's number but this year I would say Carkner has looked the best in fights. Orr is decent, but, as mentioned, he can't handle Parros or Brashear.

See this is kinda unfair to a guy like Eric Boulton. He weights 225lbs. but is only 6'1 and gives up reach and height in almost every fight he's in. There isn't a guy that he has fought since i've seen him in a Thrashers uniform that he can't hang with.

Everytime they fight?? I don't think he was too embarrassed when he broke Orrs orbital last year, tough guy wearing a visor for a month is embarrassing, a KO yes is embarrassing, TKO is embarrassing, but that was last year, it is embarrassing when Orr super fans dispute that he got TKO'd by Parros or got feed twice by a cruiser weight.

this thread needs more Janssen.

Agreed, always giving up size and reach when he fights and has an insane amount of endurance.

And rarely wins them.

Fighting bigger guys and getting your ass kicked doesn't make you the best in your weight class. The fact that Janssen does well against guys his own size does, but the bigger guys argument doesn't really work imo.

Until John Scott loses a fight, he's the heavyweight champ.

Too bad the Rangers didn't bother to dress Boogard when the Hawks were at the Garden.

Georges Laraque has a different opinion.....

And in the West, the toughest guy is Derek Boogaard and the toughest pound for pound is hands down Cam Janssen.

True, but I got more respect for Bam Bam stepping up then Scott who's managed to avoid the top dogs all season.

How does size not fit in to this when Bam Bam's losses came from guys with a pretty big reach advantage? And in those fights reach being the pretty obvious issue when fighting the bigger guys.

He may not be a true HW but then he might as take the crown of best MW for stepping up classes.

Rypien used to be undisputed champ of his weight class. Highly doubt he ever suits up in the NHL again, though. Sadly. I miss him, even if fighting was the only thing he was good for.
