It's surprising to me how many people believe that the goalies will slip. Most publications are saying that the goalies this year are quality players and will not go as late as many seem to be predicting. There should be four in the first round alone.

I'd say there's a decent chance that Schwarz will go in the #5-#7 range, myself, and Montoya could be in the #10 range. There are some teams that may elect to trade up specifically in order to select a goalie this year.

The goalies would go higher if more teams in the top 10 were in need of goaltending.

IMO, Marek Schwarz would go in the top 5 if there was a team there that really needed the help.

Bryan Murray will not use a first round pick on a European.(Unless it was an obvious must pick-i.e.Ovechkin at #1)...now if Gauthier was still Anaheim's GM then I could see that type of surprise pick.

I tend to agree with you regarding Bryan Murray's preferences. However, if someone like Lauri Tukonen were to "fall" through the first eight selections, I doubt that Bryan Murray would pass him up.

I can see the top six, but after that I'm not so sure. Why on earth would Atlanta pick a "goalie of the future" when they have arguably the best prospect in the world in Kari Lehtonen?
