Sundin over the Sedins?
Difficult to determine who was greater. All 3 are extremely close.
Sundin over the Sedins?
I don't think the case is closed until they actually do those things.
Today,
Lidstrom
Foppa
Karlsson
Lundqvist
Zetterberg
H.Sedin
D. Sedin
Backstrom
Salming
Sundin
Dahlin is 18, looks like 25. He'll be better than Karlsson.
Pettersson will have a more successful carreer than Zetterberg by the time he retires.
Case closed.
It is possible that E. Pettersson & R. Dahlin end up as top 10 Swedish Players of All Time. They both are very gifted and pretty much elite already, however there are so many variables in play that everything must fall into place perfectly and the probability of that is unlikely.
Sundin is a clear Hall of Famer but Karlsson just had one of the greatest 3 year stretches a defenseman ever had.
Putting Forsberg ahead of Lidstrom is like saying Malkin over Crosby
I have a feeling most North Americans will put Lidström as number 1 and most Swedes will put Forsberg as number 1
Yes of course, but looking at Dahlin for example. Drafted 1st overall, was playing against grown men as a 17-year old and did amazing. Karlsson was nowhere near Dahlin at the same age. I'd say the probability is very likely he'll pass Karlsson.
Pettersson dominated SHL last season and he's off to a great start in Van. If he keeps developing as expected I see him easily becoming better than atleast Zetterberg.
Again, these are my opinions. I believe these two are the best players we've produced in a long time and we'll just have to wait and see
You realize that players can develop at different places right?
Just because a player was better sooner doesn't mean he'll be a better player later.
Karlsson had a torrid development pace from the time he was 18 to the time he was the 3rd youngest Norris winners after Orr and Potvin.
How about my man Tomas Sandstrom?
Both not really that controversialPutting Forsberg ahead of Lidstrom is like saying Malkin over Crosby
Personal preferences. People might like the talent and the game of one, more than the other
When i first saw the list and noticed Steen I figured I could honestly find a spot in the top 10.
Couldn't pull it off though. Heck of a player but a heck of a peer group as well.
Not to mention it's a full on bizarre comment that hes had among the best 3 year stretches ever when he has no norris trophies.Mats Sundin - Wikipedia
He played 18 season in the NHL and is the only Swedish player to have scored atleast 500 goals. Yes, he is a Hall of Famer.
Lidstrom is the 2nd best dman of all time..... so there is that. Both not really that controversial

It’s a lot closer than people think. Lidstrom definately had the better career due to longevity, but when healthy Forsberg was a beast and flat out dominated.
The table below shows the top 25 career era-adjusted scorers in NHL history sorted by era-adjusted points per game.
