Is this about current accomplishments or potential? If you're going by potential Umberger blows Armstrong away but by current accomplishments I'd give it to Armstrong.

The gap in potential is not nearly as big as some make it out to be.
And I'd say potential is useless without accomplishments.
I'd take Colby on my team any day.

Komisarek may not get alot of press but he is already playing in all game situations, minus #1-2 pp unit, he almost goes unnoticed which is very good for a young d-prospect.

You don't have Gerber in there because of his age, yet you have Zidlicky in there who is a UFA this summer. Better to just stick to redoing the list with guys under 25 then.

The reason I put Zidlicky in there instead of Gerber is what has Gerber done before this season? Zidlicky has been producing for a few years now, so he is a sure thing, Gerber in my mind is still not a sure thing. So based on his age that's why he fell off my list.

I still take Blackburn over and over where he was picked solely because he was injured by a once in a lifetime, freak accident which most likely wouldn't happen again in another world.

A shame.

Reading.
Theres alot of guys who could be argued for top ten, and that will change. Some of these guys are still not anyway near what they could be e.g Koivu, Weiss, Ruutu (injuries), Grigorenko.

Nice to see someone mention Chistov.

He had a good season in Russia and the Ducks will most likely give him another chance to show what he can do next season. Burke said at the season ticket holders meeting that he would do anything he could to get Chistov back over here, and Chistov has said he would like to come back.

He could really break out in the new NHL.

It's nice to see a guy like Hamhuis going in the top 5. I have him in a keeper pool so I"ve been watching him all year. He's 23 and gets 25-30 minutes a game consistently. Very impressive.
Ruutu is still a wildcard for me. Whether he becomes an elite all-around player or just an elite checker is still up in the air as far as I'm concerned.
Give me Blackburn with the 10th pick all over again. That guy was going to be awesome.
Some of you have dropped Pascal Leclaire way too quickly. He had a really good save percentage this year and is going to be an elite goalie in time. He needs more games to prove himself.

Goc has to be in the top thirty, and Ehrhoff in the top twenty, at the very least.

Yes Armstrong has produced more, and he's a defensive first player.
You look at stats, but also the "prod" stat that shows that even pro-rated with their icetime, Armstrong simply outscores Umberger.

So out of their potential, Umberger is supposed to play better offense than Armstrong, while Colby is supposed to be better defensively than Umberger.
Well, Armstrong is playing better in both aspects so far.
He's a great PKer, he hustles and plays smart defense AND he outscores Umberger.
You're not getting it. Armstrong is outscoring Umberger solely because of Pittsburgh's horrible NHL forward depth. Switch their roles and Armstrong doesn't come close to what Umberger has done with such little ice time on third and fourth lines most of the year. Yes, Armstrong averages a point for every 22 minutes he plays, while Umberger averages a point every 25 minutes he plays. Which is more impressive considering the players both players play with? Niko Dimitrakos and Jeff Carter or Crosby and whoever? In three years this will look silly when Umberger is still in a top 6 role and Armstrong is in a bottom 6 role.

Ray Emery would definately go 1st round if it was done again, easily over Bochenski.

I like Spezza first based on him being a complete player.
