Basically, since McDavid Joined the NHL, who would be your Top 10 Most Productive and Most Successful Players in the League?

Here is my Top 10 as an Example:
10. Ben Bishop (2 All Star Teams, Would be higher if he could play more often.)
9. Erik Karlsson (Started off on fire with 2 1st All Star Teams, but has been hitting some injury bugs recently.)
8. Braden Holtby (Won a Vezina and got a Stanley Cup, a Rare Combo for goalies recently.)
7. Patrick Kane (2 100 Point Seasons, one winning him an MVP.)
6. Victor Hedman (3 time All-Star, 1 time Norris.)
5. Sidney Crosby (Back to Back Cups in 2016 and 2017 plus a 100 Point Season in 2019.)
4. Alex Ovechkin (Perennial 50 goal scorer, Won his first cup in 2018.)
3. Brent Burns (2 Time 1st Team-All Star, one of which He won the Norris. Became a Potential Future HHOF Candidate out of nowhere.)
2. Nikita Kucherov (His 128 in 2018-19 is the Most Points in a Season since the turn of the Millenium, He has been on an All-Star Team 3 Years Running and won an MVP.)
1. Connor McDavid (He has been on the First All-Star team 3 Years running and has been named the MVP by the NHLPA Twice.)

Who is on your list? Show off your list, and Discuss it as well as others.

McDavid
Kucherov
Mackinnon
Crosby
Marchand
Hedman
Burns
Ovi
Bergeron
Kane

Order could easily be adjusted (except for McDavid) but IMO that’s the clear top 10 in the OP time frame.

Eichel has put up more points then Matthews, in a way worse team while facing much higher Talent in competition Since his team has one line.

he is on any list that has Matthews, or goes in for him. He’s scored something like 335 points in 350 games since 2015-2016 on tire fires.

Nothing personal against Eichel, I'd have him right up there if this was a top 15. I have him slightly below Matthews. I also think Matthews is top 5 in the league right now only behind McDavid, OV, MacKinnon and Barkov, with Pasta, Draisaitl, Eichel and Panarin right behind them). Just my personal opinion.

Though on any given night these guys are all interchangeable. And it is so hard to make these lists anyway. Guys like Crosby and Kane have the longevity in this league that you cant really leave them out of the top 10. Marner and Pettersson deserve to be right up there too.

I guess you forgot him :(

3rd right now, but for the topic of this thread is it not reasonable to say those two 50-point seasons and being one of the main players of one of the worst seasons a team as had in NHL history kinda sorta disqualify him?

Holtbys an interesting case. Cup+Vezina over that span and 22 more wins than (176) than Rinne in 2nd (154). Respectable .914 SV% and 2.57 GAA. But those numbers have taken a huge hit the last couple years. Meanwhile youve got Bishop sitting there with 124/.923/2.66.

I guess overall you’ve probably got to give to Holts over the rest of the goaltenders with the caveat you mentioned (cup/vez) and the huge edge in wins. But hard to feel good about including him in a Top 10 given how poor he’s looked for awhile now. Goes to show you how crazy his 15/16 and 16/17 seasons were though (90/.923/2.14).

I guess it is reasonable. I swear I keep thinking 15-16 was a decade ago which makes me wonder why Drai and Matthews were on that list while thinking Mack wasn't there yet because of those seasons mentioned

This has to be your shortest post about Eichel ever.

The growth!

Can’t believe how many lists are omitting Draisaitl. McDavid, Kucherov and Ovi are the top 3. After that you can really do any combination of Kane, Crosby, Marchand and Draisaitl.
