Picking a fight
That surprises me. But I guess with JT leaving and a few misfires and trades it makes sense. Wasn't thinking of you guys though as one of the ones with very few.
Without researching which is why I thought I'd just ask. Vegas, Detroit, Anaheim, The Rangers, etc. are a few of the teams I thought wouldn't have many but wouldn't have thought of The Isle without looking it up.
Yeah. Clutterbuck, Eberle, Barzal, and Beauvillier were all acquired by trading top 10 picks, but none of them were actually top 10 picks themselves.

It just seemed strange with so many top 10 picks playing in the league that a team wouldn't have a least one on their roster. Rick Nash would've most likely but...
And only having 5 first rounders in total seems odd as well.

It's extremely rare to get centers like Bergeron and Krejci outside of the 1st round. Half the top-6 centers in the league were top 10 picks.

p.s. thanks for either knowing that or looking it up. Sometimes I just prefer to ask the question or try to think about it for a bit as compared to just googling things.

hockey-reference has a draft position on current rosters. Had to go through every team, but it only took a few minutes.

No doubt. But even the Bruins whom are kinda the poster child for those later picks - as that's been the core of their team for over a decade - have often had players like Horton, Kessel, Hamilton, Chistov, Jagr, Nash, Seguin, Connoly, in the line-up. To not have any at the moment seemed a bit strange. But I guess they probably didn't have any to start the season last year either.

Kinda shows how one or two home-run picks in the late 1st, 2nd or 3rd can really do for a team or being lucky in FA or trade - as Chara, Rask, Bergeron, Marchand, Krejci, Pastrnak, McAvoy, would all be amongst the tops of their draft classes if re-done today.

Nashville had it with Weber, Suter and Rinne. Chicago had that with everyone outside of Toews and Kane - they nailed the three drafts before with 3rd over-all Barker not doing much while Buff, Keith, Seabrook, Crawford, Bolland, etc. was just some great draft years for them. Montreal screwed up their great year. Dallas has Benn. Philly and Anaheim got the cores of their team out of those top 10.

I just find it interesting.

Las Vegas
Vegas has only 4 first rounders. Theodore, Fleury, Subban, and Pacioretty. Only Fleury was a top ten pick.
