Dawned on me that Boston doesn't have a former top 10 picks suiting up for them this year and actually only has five former 1st rounders on the squad. Rask, Pastrnak, DeBrusk and McAvoy, John Moore.

Are there any other teams that don't have a former top 10 pick lacing them up this year. Is there another team with less first rounders out there? Whether drafted by the team, acquired in trade or free agency.

How many does your team have?

Blues have 3 top 10 picks, with only one being picked by them.

Pietrangelo, Bouwmeester, and Schenn.

But also have Schwartz, Tarasenko, Thomas, Schmaltz, and Perron as later 1st rounders.

Dallas : Jason Spezza ( 2nd 2001 ) , Tyler Seguin ( 2nd 2010 ) , Valerie Nichuskin ( 10th 2013 ) , Miro Heiskanen ( 3rd 2017 ) .

Stars didn't really have many top10 picks themselves in the last well since moving to Dallas.

Dahlin (1st), Eichel (2nd), Reinhart (2nd), Bogosian (3rd), Okposo (7th), Ristolainen (8th), Mittelstadt (8th),
Girgensons, Skinner, Berglund, Beaulieu

EDIT: Sorry, I got focused on the part of the original post including all 1st rounders rather than just top 10. Still missed Skinner though

It just seemed strange with so many top 10 picks playing in the league that a team wouldn't have a least one on their roster. Rick Nash would've most likely but...
And only having 5 first rounders in total seems odd as well.

I seem to remember Montreal not having top 10 picks on their roster for forever (with the exception of Price) till they tanked and got Galchenyuk.

Rangers only have one in Mika Zibanejad (6th Overall, 2011). Vegas as well (MAF, 1st Overall, 2003).

Boston is the only team with no top ten picks currently on its roster.

Bailey (9th) is the only one who we drafted. Hickey (4th) was taken off waivers and Ladd (4th) was signed in UFA.

That surprises me. But I guess with JT leaving and a few misfires and trades it makes sense. Wasn't thinking of you guys though as one of the ones with very few.
Without researching which is why I thought I'd just ask. Vegas, Detroit, Anaheim, The Rangers, etc. are a few of the teams I thought wouldn't have many but wouldn't have thought of The Isle without looking it up.

They did not draft him but Hamrlik was there from '07 until '11.

Edit: Also Chad Kilger from '00 to '04.

How The Cap has changed how The Rangers approach the business nowadays. I kinda miss the days of them throwing money at every big name past their prime star that was on the market.
I really thought Zibanejad was going to be excellent. Happy he's carved out a career but really thought he was going to be one of those guys. I thought he was going to be a better version of what the Jets got out of Scheifele.

They had Hamrlik for awhile.
I don't think Philly had one for the longest while either outside of JVR/Schenn

p.s. thanks for either knowing that or looking it up. Sometimes I just prefer to ask the question or try to think about it for a bit as compared to just googling things.
