It's that time of year again where we can speculate who will lead our team in points for the 2019-2020 season. I will do a poll for the next 10 days or so to determine who Leafs HF thinks will be our scoring leaders. This is also assuming Mitch Marner resigns and there are no significant roster changes.

Johnsson takes the #7 spot based on your votes. Last year Andreas had 20 goals, 23 assists for 43 points in 73 games. My guess is he scores 50-55 points over 82 games this season.

1. Auston Matthew (58.2% 124 votes)
2. Mitch Marner (63.5% 73 votes)
3. John Tavares (86.0% 49 votes)
4. William Nylander (73.2% 101 votes)
5. Morgan Rielly (59.2% 42 votes)
6. Tyson Barrie (79.2% 61 votes)
7. Andreas Johnsson (68.9% 82 votes)
8.
9.
10.

I'm going to re-up my vote on Kapanen

Dermott's going to miss like 20 games. You think he's going to put up 40-45 points in 60 games?

Even on a full season, he doesn't get anywhere close to 40-45.
Debatable. You do realize players improve, right? Especially younger players. Dermott hasn't played 82 games yet in a season. He could very well end up with 40 points in a full season.

Players improve, but Dermott was extremely sheltered last season and managed 17 points. We've got better PP options in Rielly, Barrie, Muzzin and arguably Ceci, so he's going to get little time there, at best.

If he gets more difficult minutes, he'll have a more difficult time producing. If he gets the same minutes, he'll have a difficult time over doubling his output, simply due to lack of ice-time more then anything else.

He also was on the 3rd pairing. He wasn't put in a situation to produce points.

Lol at Ceci being better on PP. Next year when Dermott replaces Muzzin, he's going to surprise some people. Book it.

I think your PP dmen are Rielly & Barrie now, Babcock still likes the 4 forward PP units

Exactly, and he's going to stay on the 3rd pairing this season.

I said arguably a better PP option...

With Sandin, Liljegren, Kivihalme and the rest of our defensive depth, perhaps it would be wise to sell high on Dermott.

kap or kerfoot .... either will be playing some top6 at times and also PP time.
no one else on that list should be on the PP

Ilya Mikheyev is just random , he could he a 50 point guy or a player who is sent down to the marlies.

call me crazy but i dont think spezza makes the team. or hes going to be the 13th forward and glued to the press box. id rather have moore or agostino on the 4th line. They are both twice as fast and still have the ability to score and backcheck.

Spezza is kinda garbage at this point.

I tend to agree with you but knowing Babcock I fully expect him as a regular in our lineup.

Ya, I don't think there's even a chance that Spezza doesn't make the team. He's slower than I'd like, but he is s smart player that can still contribute. Hes the #4C unless he plays just abysmally to start the season and plays himself out of the job.
