I think Hyman and Johnsson are both in contention, and wouldn’t be surprised if they made the top 10. Moore and Petan has an outside shot too!
I would definitely have Johnsson in the top 10 over the guys 8-10. One hasn't even played in the NHL yet, Muzzin will be getting tough matchups which will probably hinder his offence, and Kerfoot - who I'd have in my top 10, I can't see him beating Johnsson unless he goes off on the pp but I see Johnsson on the first PP unless they Kerfoot or Nylander takes that spot.

My list:
1) Marner 30G 99P
2) Matthews: 48G 95P
3) Tavares: 42G 92P
4) Nylander: 25G 65P
5) Barrie: 16G 63P
6) Rielly: 14G 61P
7) Kapanen: 22G 52P
8) Kerfoot: 14G 45P
9) Mikheyev: 18G 43P
10) Muzzin: 12G 42P

Wondering what your reasoning is to have Nylander at 65 points when you have his line mates combining for 66 goals (assuming your line is Mik-Mat-Nyl) and Rielly and Barrie combining for 30.

40 assists pretty low no? He already has a 40 assist year under his belt where only 7 were on the powerplay. He didn't have team mates putting up monster numbers like your predictions either when he put up those 40 assists.

4) Nylander: 25G 85P
5) Barrie: 22G 61P

Last year I predicted 64 points and he let me down, so not willing to go much higher at this point. I’m not saying he won’t, I just put a number down that I was comfortable with.

Also, there are a ton of cases where players score 30+ points less than their linemates...

Went with Matthews I say he tops 100 points / 50 goals this year and stays healthy. I think him and Mitch will rake on the PP which I think will be much better this year with Barrie and no Jim Hillier system.

Yeah if Matthews puts up 95 points with 48 goals, I'd expect Nylander to be approaching 80 in a season. He'd definitely surpass his career norm of 60-65.

I don't think 25-30 goals and 55-60 assists is unreasonable for Nylander next year.

Matthews if he can stay healthy all year long, which I'm not banking on.

I voted for him either way, trying to be optimistic for once.

In a lot of those cases either the third line mate has identical points to the second or the line mate with the massive amount of points racks up 35-45 power play points.

If it's the latter then you need to bump Marner and Tavares up to 110.

Could have waited for Marner to sign before doing this poll?
Yeah I guess we could have, but he can end up signing Oct 1st for all we know, which is why I decided to do it now. This is more of an offseason thread.

Also we did last year with Nylander holding out.

I'm thinking a healthy Matthews takes it back from marner but wouldn't it be tasty if Willy has a career year and takes it. I like where 2% of voters heads are at right now
Honestly believe he has it in him, I don’t think the difference between him and Marner is as big as others seem to believe

Want to vote Matthews, but he needs to stay healthy. And I don't just mean games played. He was pretty damn awful for about 2 months (Jan - Feb) which a lot of us said he was hurt.
