Who are the best 10 forwards playing up North? For me:

1. McDavid
2. Matthews
3. Draisaitl
4. Marner
5. Schiefele
6. Tavares
7. Pettersson
8. Wheeler
9. M.Tkachuk
10. Miller

The first few are pretty obvious but near the end it gets tough. I have a "just missed the cut" list but I want to hear others rankings first. Let me know if you disagree/agree with anything.

Fire away!

I'd put Petterson above Tavares right now, maybe Wheeler too. I think you got the group right. Miller is probably the only that's debatable. Would be more interesting to do a top 25 IMO

8. Kyle Connor WPG 0.95

I would put Connor in there. Miller really had 1 good year last year.

yeah the 10 spot took me a couple mins to decide. Although Miller has been elite since joining Vancouver. there are a few names you could put over him that i wouldnt argue. but i like Miller a lot.

Yeah the middle tier was easy but ranking them wasnt. i think its fair to say Schiefele has passed Tavares but i dont think Pettersson has yet. Wheeler is right around their level too.

Johnny Gaudreau is very easily a top 10 forward in that division.

he could be there. but he isnt "easily" there. he is one of my "on the cusp".

Yeah this reflects the top pretty well. expect im not going off of just the start of this season though.

Very easily. The fact that you have Matthew Tkachuk over him tells me you don't watch Calgary.

He's been one of the top scorers in the league since he joined while carrying the worst "1C" in the league.

He's quickly becoming the most underrated winger in the league.

you are talking about since he joined the NHL? im talking about currently. there are 10 guys, Tkachuk or not, i would rather have than Gaudreau. he is more in the 12-15 range in terms of North forwards.

He's also been epic playoff bust. I also think you are exaggerting how good offensvely he is

If we're talking right now, what on earth is Tkachuk, Tavares, or Petterson doing ahead of him?

You're delusional, sorry.

If he's an epic playoff bust then what is Tkachuk?

Gaudreau scored 99 points not 2 years ago with minimal offensive support. He finished 4th in Hart voting. I think you're underestimating him dramatically.

Any list that includes Nik Ehlers just makes more sense.

Weird, I'd suggest you dont watch hockey if you took Gadreau over Tkatchuk.

I like this one, 11-15 would be some combination of M. Tkachuk, Boeser, Ehlers, Nylander, and Dubois

This year and last year combined.

Gaudreau: 91 GP, 27 G, 76 P for 0.29 GPG and 0.83 PPG

Tkachuk: 90 GP, 29 G, 75 P for 0.32 GPG and 0.83 PPG

Tavares: 84 GP, 32 G, 77 P for 0.38 GPG and 0.91 PPG

Pettersson: 92 GP, 35 G, 84 P for 0.38 GPG and 0.91 PPG

Ehlers need to be on any list over 34 year old Wheeler.

And in the interest of avoiding any potential debate that might spur, feel free to include Nylander on any list Ehlers is on.:p:

im seeing a lot of Ehlers! i was having a mini Jets debate between him Wheeler and Connor. it can go any way, they are all viable options and very good hockey players.

So in the top 8 positions, you have two Oilers, two Leafs, and four Jets. Hmm.......

As much as the North gets knocked, it has the best pure skill of any division. Defenses are certailny tested nightly.

Let's face it, if every division was like the North, the NHL would have a better product on its hands.

I rarely watch non-Sens games nowadays, but when they play the Jets I am always most impressed by Kyle Connor. Not sure if he happens to be a Sens killer, or if I am drawn to his style of play, but he always seems to stand out to me which is especially impressive given how many great forwards that Winnipeg has.

Given the entertainment of it and 0 games cancelled, it's been the best division for the NH for them by far.

Thats why the north has a bad rap, the top 10 D is kinda sad

Chabot
Petry
Rielly
Weber
Hughes
Brodie
Barrie
Nurse
Morrisey
Muzzin

All solid, but for top 10 D in a division its kinda pathetic
