Great thread Llama, but more appropriate for here, the History of Hockey.... so wade in Gang.... agree with this list or do you have an All Time Favorite, ranking 1-10?...

My favourites (in no particular order):
Montreal Maroons (1924 to 1938)
New York/Brooklyn Americans (1925-1942)
Detroit Red Wings (my favourite team)
Toronto Maple Leafs (1940s to about 1970, when the triple stripes were on the socks and the logo leafier, until Ballard changed the look to what they wore in the 1970s and 1980s).
Pittsburgh Penguins (1967-68). The navy blue and the diagonal 3-D lettering (since Gerry Cosby already did the Rangers' jerseys, this must have been the inspiration)
Kansas City Scouts home whites (1974-1976)-A team that had names like Randy Rota, Butch Deadmarsh, Bart Crashley, and Simon Nolet begs for respect.

Agreed with the Kings and Seals. The only thing that the Kings should have done between 1968 to about 1980 was kept the pants purple for both the home and away uniforms, as the gold ones at home were kind of tacky. The Seals always wore great threads (white skates included, lol). Their later incarnation as the Cleveland Barons was neat as well with the map of Ohio on the jerseys.

The yellow home pants for the Kings were not a constant during their entire purple/gold colors era. The Hockey Uniform Database shows purple pants for home/road for the first three seasons, then again in 1979-80.

The Ohio State patch with the number inside on the shoulders was a great look for the Barons but unfortunately they only did that in their first season - they removed them the following year.

In no particular order...

- LA Kings original purple/gold - audacious colors but expanding from 6 to 12 teams was audacious, so why not?
- Seals '69-70 one year variation of their debut jersey, with white shoulder bars with numbers inside on the green jerseys and broader blue waist stripes, a great look.
- Bruins early 70's - I also loved the contrasting shoulder bars on the black jerseys and hated when they were removed in '75-76.
- Blackhawks - especially the red one, a classic look that I hope they never change (ditch the black version!)
- NY/Brooklyn Americans - love it!
- Redwings - one of the few with only 2 colors, another classic look, especially the white with the contrasting red sleeves
- Leafs - the same as poster ICM1970 cited, with the triple stripes and leafier logo
- Seals - early 70's green/gold - loved both versions even though they are always synonymous with some bad times
- Penguins - first year, a real oddball in that it was somewhat copying the Rangers, but why didn't the home ones say "Penguins"? Real odd to have the city name on both home and road. And those numbers were also "out there" in an era when numbers were pretty much the standard "athletic block" font.
- North Stars - early 70's, also loved the contrasting shoulder bars on both the home and road versions.

Honorable mention - also liked the early Blues jerseys and Sharks debut jerseys.

I'm always surprised that this one gets no love.

Oh yeah, those original Sabres were a fantastic look, especially with the triple stripes reminiscent of the Leafs -- made Tim Horton look right at home when he joined the team!

From the article, these were the honorable mentions:

White Away Jersey (2013-) - San Jose Sharks
Home Jersey (2007-) - Detroit Red Wings
Home Jersey (200:cool: - Philadelphia Flyers
Home/Away Jersey (1993-2006) - Anaheim Ducks
Original Jerseys (1980-94) - Calgary Flames

However, my picks are far fewer than 10...

Caps (hometown team - classic uniform*)
Leafs
Wings

What about what the Bruins wore up through Bobby Orr's first year in 1966-67? The socks with the unique striping in particular looked neat and the white jerseys looked snazzy. Agreed with Seals Fan that San Jose's look for it's first few years was one of the better ones as well. And also the original blue and gold the Buffalo Sabres wore and made famous during the era of the French Connection and Tim Horton should also get an honourable mention as well.

I agreed with that list when I saw it for the most part. I always end up getting stuck in a vicious cycle of WatchMojo videos for hours on end, it seems.

I would have replaced the Penguins with the Islanders blue jersey though.

Well, the video in the OP has it #3 all-time, so I'm not alone. It's simple and modern, colors, emblem, striping and all.

He certainly rocked the Canucks jersey! It's tailor made.

You and me both. I cringe every time I see that set or what they wear currently. Worst rebrand ever. The Kings have access to one of the best color schemes in the league, but ignore it. Now that they won two cups in black, white, and gray, we'll likely never see forum blue and gold again. Would have loved to see Gretzky in the 80-88 set.

Does anyone know at what point NHL jerseys got so big and baggy in the 80s? I love the way jerseys looked in the 70s where they were pretty form fitting. I've seen videos of the Kings in their 80s garb and the sleeves were tight, but by the end of the decade they look super loose. I wish CCM reissues were made in the measurements of the time. I love my kings forum blue and Seals green/gold jerseys, but I hate how you look like a flying squirrel when you raise your arm. Bugs me for some reason.

How about WHA uniforms? My favourites include the Philadelphia Blazers, first year Quebec Nordiques (although I liked the fleur de lis look they had for most of their years in the WHA and then onto the NHL), Chicago Cougars, Houston Aeros, Los Angeles Sharks, and New England Whalers (harpoon "W" was much better that what they wore during their NHL days).
