I would be interested in what some people think will happen at the draft. This is the order for round 1, assuming Pittsburgh wins the lottery. Assume the team you think will win the Cup picks last (because that IS the rule). The order I give, is strictly best to worst record, but again, put the team YOU think will win the Cup in 30th. Division winners go 25-30 (unless a team that did not win the division wins the Cup)

Obviously, this list will change between now and the end, but just as a rough estimate.

1) Pittsburgh
2) Chicago
3) Washington
4) Columbus
5) Carolina
6) Atlanta
7) Anaheim
8) Phoenix
9) NY Rangers
10) Florida
11) Buffalo
12) Minnesota
13) Edmonton
14) Nashville
15) St. Louis
16) NY Islanders
17) Los Angeles
18) Dallas
19) Calgary
20) Montreal
21) New Jersey
22) Ottawa
23) Boston
24) Vancouver
25) San Jose
26) Tampa Bay
27) Toronto
28) Detroit
29) Edmonton
30) Colorado

Good list, i'd put Jakub Sindel at #20 for the Habs.

I'd be surprised to see him drop to 14th. I don't know much about this draft but I know that Chipchura is supposed to be one of the top 10, if not top 5.

Not sure how Blackburn's doing... but I just thought about the current problems in net with New York... that's why I selected Alvaro Montoya for them.

Another European?

Ladd would add some grit and toughness... exactly what the Habs are looking for.

Lundqvist is coming over for the Rangers and Markannen has been a strong backup goalie for them.

I'd be shocked if Schwarz dropped past the 10th pick.

He's got much more potential then Alvaro Montoya and Devan Dubnyk.

Thing is though.. it might be that only Edmonton and St.Louis in the top 15 are interested in picking a goalie.. the rest already have a goaltending stud. Do you think somebody would trade up to get Schwarz?

I doubt Phoenix takes a goalie in the first 2 rounds. They have Boucher and Johnson, who are both inconsistent, but still have time. After that, they have Bierk and Pelletier, who may be good backups. The real reason they won't draft a goalie early is David LeNeveu, who set all kinds of records at Cornell, and became an AHL all star as a 20 year old rookie.

With the depth at young defensemen, and the lack thereof in terms of an impact forward, I'd expect the Coyotes to take Wolski, or Olesz if he is available.

What makes you think the Blues are looking for a goalie, especially in the first round?

Two of their top ten prospects now are goalies (Barulin and Sanford), and they still have Tuomas Nissinen in the wings as well, who should be in the AHL next year.

I wouldn't object to taking a goalie in the second round, and I have my eye on a couple (one from Quebec and one from the Dub), but when you look at these mocks, you see Lukas Kaspar consistently being picked after the Blues' spot, and in all of those mocks, Kaspar is the best player available when the Blues' spot comes up.

The only one I really agree with is the one that has Alexandre Picard going to the Blues at #15. Picard might be the only forward I'd take ahead of Kaspar iof boith were still on the table when the Blues pick.

Just my $0.02.
