He has 53 points in 52 games this season. He's already set his career-highs in goals, assists and points. Looks like he's finally turned into the player he was projected.

    Fun must be always.

He’s always been a possession monster and underlying/advanced stats have always been kind to him. What I understand from listening to sharks fans is that he could never finish off plays, he seems to have improved that aspect of his game and obviously the results have followed.

I feel like it’s a little upsetting that you didn’t mention his smile.... that shizz is infectious, his biggest asset no doubt.

He's the player I hope Bennett becomes. He gave us hell last game.

Pretty spot on. Last year alone there were maybe 5-10 additional goals he could have had if he could have finished. I'm talking tap-ins that hit the post, or failure to lift the puck when the goalie was down. This year he is finishing everything. It's great to see.

Hertl + Kane on one line and Couture + Pavelski + Meier on another is a luxury for us right now. Hertl is the x-factor in all of this.

I don't follow the Flames, does Bennett look like he's a late bloomer rather than bust?

Hertl is a superstar, Sharks best forward by a country mile at this point. He makes everyone who plays with him so much better. The only chink in his armor is a tendency to miss time due to injuries.

The jury is still out for Bennett. Definitely looks like a different player out there this season, but at the same time i think he still could be a very good point producer. However, doesn’t help that he’s behind Gaudreau and Tkachuk on the LW side.

He is great at getting good scoring chances but just hits the goalie, as opposed to making the goalie make a good save to stop him

Its being mostly healthy(and notably no more knee injury stuff) for a few years now, mixed with Deboer finally utilizing him more offensively, instead of trying to pair him with Cooch as a shutdown pairing, that really helped him turn the corner.

He is my favorite player, so I am stoked that he is finally producing in a manner I was swearing up and down he could do for years.

Considering Kane´s recent play, a country mile has to be much shorter than i envisioned :naughty:

I will not argue that Hertl has been the Sharks best forward and it is something that has been coming a long time. He always has had stretches of absolute dominant play, his boardwork and his play from behind the net are second to none for quite some time and he finally has been rather healthy for a long period of time and has put it all together…

When I bought my last Sharks jersey (right after Marleau left), I was torn between getting Hertl or Labanc… Glad I took Hertl :)

Hertl is the main piece Ottawa wanted for Karlsson, but were turned down flat. Now I see why.

Hertl has been arguably our most important forward for a couple years. About time results followed.

Hertl unlike Bennett always showed great promise/potential. Remember that 4 goal game that made Adam Oates hit peak whine.

Hertl has been elite for years at everything but finishing. Now he’s an elite finisher and he’s added a high level of playmaking to his game. 21% shooting isn’t sustainable long-term but Hertl takes a ton of shots in close to the net and deflects a lot of pucks as well, so it’s closer to his real shooting talent than say, Jordan Eberle in 2012.

It’s honestly unreal how consistent he’s been this season as well. Meier, Kane, Pavelski, all those guys have been fairly streaky, but Hertl hasn’t been. If he can stay healthy, I think he’s a legit #1C. But health is always a question for him.

Seen him plenty. He was a complete non-factor that one time the Oilers made the playoffs.
