****ECHL season suspended*************

The Walleye played the Cyclones last night in Toledo and decided to comply with the recommendation of Ohio Gov. Mike Dewine and not host an event with large amounts of people attending.

Gamesheet: Cincinnati at Toledo - Mar 11, 2020

Fort Wayne played last night at home in front of an announced crowd of 6637 (likely less than half that amount).

The ECHL hasn't yet set a policy regarding future games (obviously).

The Cyclones only have two home games remaining-not until April 3 & 4. The club has made no announcement regarding whether they will play these games in front of empty arenas.

NBA postponed season Wednesday.

NHL and NHLPA meeting today (1pm ET for NHL BOG) about potential postponement/cancellation.

Many European leagues cancelling season/playoffs.

AHL will probably follow NHL lead. Guessing ECHL will do the same.

Stay tuned.

NHL teams have been asked to get their arena availability until the end of June. Mark Cuban, Dallas Mavericks owner, believs the NBA will continue in the future and could play until August. Hopefully this is just a postponement until everything settles down.

In Ohio, the governor has ordered (no longer voluntary) that there be no large public gatherings. The threshold is 100 people. A few types of events are exempted, but sporting events are not.

With 2 of the ECHL teams from Ohio and the Board of Governors Chair being the Cyclones top man (Ray Harris), I'm of the mind the ECHL season will be suspended or cancelled by tomorrow.
