Well if he’s practicing with the Eagles I’d say some he’s getting closeish to playing some games.

Yah he's not playing anytime soon, but him joining the team is a big step. He needs time to learn their systems and get some practice time with the team.

Is he being officially sent down? That would mean that the team docs have cleared him to play. If so, that's fantastic news.

Ehhh this is more significant then just him going down to practice. Otherwise you just keep him up in the NHL. Him going down means he's probably very close to game ready.

Apparently they sent Boikov to Utah, so I'm guessing they're expecting Timmins to take a roster spot and not just practice with the team.

The Eagles were already fun to watch. I can't wait to see Timmins, though I imagine not playing real-game hockey for almost a year is going to take a bit of a toll.

He’s gonna be rusty for sure. But getting games in this year no matter how he plays in incredibly important.

Zero expectations other than him hopefully logging normal, 45 second shifts in the AHL by season’s end.
A player like Timmins is so intelligent with such a high IQ that I’m not worried about a skill regression or stagnating. Once he gets some shifts in, he will figure it out. This isn’t a hockey Pejorative Slur.
Hope he gets some good practices in and doesn’t shy away too much ala Bigras.
